Removing it
it requires special pull out keys that are inserted on sides of unit .These came with unit if puchased new .If not call one of your local car stereo installing shop and ask if they have spare set .You may have to remove this face ring around face then you insert keys one on left side/ right side .then pull unit out
It doesnt work after battery when dead in car..
What has most likely happened is the when the car died it was probably jumped off. Anytime a vehicle is jumped off, especially off a much larger vehicle, a "jump" of voltage is sent throughout the vehicle also known as a surge. The surge travels through the vehicle's electrical system and sometimes blows bulbs, fuses and relays. The back of your radio should have a fuse check it because It's probably blown. If the fuse is good refer to your vehicle manual to locate the fuse panel and find the radio fuse it might be blown. Hope this helps

New car head unit, same old problem: Garbled sound
Hello susanmillan,
If it's not the head unit, and it's not the speaker, then it must be a problem with the wire going to the speaker. When you hit a bump, the wire shorts or opens intermittently causing the faulty sound. Some insulation could have rubbed off. There could be a bad pin in a connector. The wire could have some broken strands. It could have become pinched against something sharp.
The good news is, it's really an easy fix. Just have your installer make sure that the sound is OK at the wiring harness itself, and run a new wire from there to the speaker.
Hope this helps.

I have a few suggestions that may help. Have you checked the fuses? There is on on the stereo and one in the car's fuse box. Are all of theconnections from the wiring harness secure? Make sure these are tightand show no signs of damage, especially the ground connection. Also, ifthe face is detachable, check the connectors (on the face and thestereo) for damage or dirt or anything that would prevent a goodconnection. Pushing the reset button should not have prevented you fromoperation of the unit, so it has to be either an external fault (likewhat I described above) or an internal problem. How old is the CDplayer? If it is still under warranty, I would call Sony or go to theirwebsite and speak to one of their techs. You can go to the site byclicking on the blue link:

My Sony CDX-M630
First, make sure that the face is the correct one for the unit. I have had a couple of friends buy from salvage yards and the owners of the yards will take the faces off and put them all in a box - but forget which one goes with which. If this is the correct face for the unit, and all of the connections are good, the face should be displaying "CODE IN". This is where you would enter the unlock code - with the REMOTE. If you don't have the remote, then I'm not sure if you can unlock the unit. I've been to a few sites researching this question and have yet to find a way to enter the code without the remote. If you didn't spend very much on the unit, then it's not a big loss, but I would look into buying one new. It's almost impossible to get the default codes from the manufacturer for a used unit without the proper identification - i.e. receipt, product registration code, etc. Hope this answered your question. Please take time to rate how helpful this solutions was. Thanks and good luck.
Sony wont work
Have you checked the fuses? Make sure that the fuse on the stereo and the one in the car's fuse box are still good. This could be the problem. Check them out and get back to me. Hope this helps...
