Hello, My elderly Mom has

The blinking light is the fault code to enable the engineer to have a good guess at where the fault area lies.
Count the blinks and tell a Sony repair shop, they will have a good idea of the cost.
Hope that helps.

The stand by lite flashing I have sound but no

Hello
Blinking of standby light in Sont TVs denotes fault indication. You just count the number of blinks occurs each time you switch on the TV. Please switch it ON and OFF by its front panel power switch, and not with the remote control. Do it three or more times, and keenly look at the number of blinks; confirm it, and send it to me through Fixya. OK.

Sound, no picture...please help!

(Pasted from the one before -)

Since I can't see your screen, I'll guess.

If the picture shrinks away in the vertical, fast or slow, it is in the vertical control circuit.

If the whole picture shrinks in both axes simultaneously, the high voltage circuit is the culprit.
This section is responsible for producing the accelerating voltage for the beam so if it is dropping out (quite common after years of use) there will be nothing to speed the beam to the phosphor to produce light.

Turn up the intensity when the picture drops out to see if you have any trace of light.
If not, it is the latter problem.

If you can still see a horizontal line that flickers a little (from video content) then it is the first problem described.

IF the flyback (HV) transformer is still available, it will cost somewhere between $25-$100 US (many lower cost sources have disappeared) plus labor.
Depending on whether the fault was the flyback or the high power transistor that drives it, there could be additional parts needed.

Since you indicated that it operates OK for a while, it could also be something as primitive as a failed solder joint and these can be tough to find (=$$ labor).

No picture-rumbling sound

From the symptoms you describe, it seems the high voltage flyback autotransformer has failed along with the horizontal amplifier (they are slaved to each other). The sound comes from the flyback unit.

Well, the only way to solve this is to get a technician take a look at the set, I'm afraid. Repairs could cost upto $100 or more, depending upon the number of components that need to be replaced,

It may be worth getting fixed up. If you decide to do so, call around, as shops have different rates and different expertise.

Hope that helps!

No picture, however there is sound

Is this set hooked to cable? Is there a cable or satellite box? When you press the menu button, do you see the menu on screen? Do you see anything on the screen, such as snow, or is it completely black? If the signal is OK and the TV has no picture at all, the red LED on the front of the set should be flashing a certain number of times. If the LED is flashing, the computer has detected a problem in the set and shut the picture off. If this is the case, there is no way for you to bring the picture back by pressing buttons. The number of times the LED flashes is the computer's way of displaying exactly why there is no picture. The set should then be serviced by a qualified tech familiar with Sony TV's. If the LED is not flashing and the menu comes up on screen, check your signal source. If you are using a cable or satellite box, that box could be bad, and if you are using RCA jacks, the yellow (video) wire could be bad or pulled out.

Unfortunately, I can't provide specific code for your Sony TV remote without knowing the exact model number. However, you can usually find the code in the user manual of your Sony TV or by contacting Sony customer support. Alternatively, you can try using the auto-search feature on your newstar ntr b28z remote to find the correct code for your Sony TV.

To find the code for your Sony TV using the Newstar NTR B28Z remote, you can try these general steps:

Turn on your Sony TV.
Press and hold the "TV" button on your Newstar remote until it blinks twice.
Enter the code for Sony TVs. Some common Sony TV codes are: 0000, 0011, 0080, 0111, 1234. If none of these work, you can proceed to the next step.
Press the "Power" button on the Newstar remote. If the TV turns off, the code is correct. If not, try a different code.
Once you've found the correct code, press the "TV" button again to lock it in.
If none of the provided codes work, you might need to consult the manual of your Newstar remote or contact their customer support for assistance.

I have a Sony Bravia 4K TV. Trying to download HBO now. Error code 920 keeps popping up.

Okay, Follow these steps to fix out this issue: METHOD 1: Re-installing the application Step 1 - Go to the application that you got the error with. Step 2 - Open that application download page on the Play store. Step 3 - Uninstall it or even uninstall all the update (If the error came when you were updating the application). Step 4 - Now you clear the task manager and try installing it once again. If the play store error 920 doesn't come then you have solved the problem and now wasn't that easy. So it's always best to try this step before doing anything else. METHOD 2: Switching off and turning the wifi (cellular data) on Step 1 - To remove that load Just turn your wifi off and then turn your wifi on (the same goes with your cellular data). Step 2 - Now after doing this go to your Play Store application and download the application that you were going to download. Now your Play Store Error 920 won't be bothering you anymore. METHOD 3: Clearing the cache and data of Google Play Store Step 1 - Go to settings of your device. Step 2 - Now find "Applications" option under the settings menu. Here you can find "Google Play Store" option. Open it. Step 3 - Now, at the bottom, you can find "Clear Cache" option. Tap on it and your all cache will be cleared. METHOD 4: Removing and adding back your Google account Step 1 - go to Settings of your Mobile. Step 2- Now, find "Accounts" and then go to "Google Accounts". Step 3 - In that section find the account you use for the play store or the account that you were using while the error came in. Once you tap on your specific account you'll find an option to remove the account. Tap on it. Step 4 - Now you have successfully removed your account and after that re-add your account. After entering your email id and password and hence adding your account. Go back to the play store and find the application that you were downloading or updating when the error code 920 came in. Now re-install it or update it back again. This time you won't be faced with the play store error 920. For any help visit us: Hbo Go Help
