My standby/timer light is flashing

Hi,
The Standby/Power light of the TV blinks when there is any internal malfunction in the TV.
The self-diagnostic function of the projection TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the television detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue. As per the two examples below, some of the issues may be resolved without the need for service.
If the STANDBY light flashes three times in sequence, the lamp cover is not securely attached. Reattach the lamp cover to resolve this issue.
If the STANDBY light flashes four times in sequence, the TV may be overheating. To resolve this issue, ensure that the back of the TV is well ventilated.
If the flash sequence is not listed above or the light continues to flash, follow the steps below to perform a power reset:
Try the following steps to check if the issue can be resolved.
Turn off the television.
Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.
If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
If the issue continues to occur, service may be required.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Sony Kv27S66-I'm seeing horizontal lines

You must pull the main board out and re solder the vertical IC. This IC is mounted on a large heat sink. I remember that this vertical IC is of the TDA series. It would have seven pins. The pins will have to be re soldered, please do not use too much solder. You do not want to short the pins with excess solder. Next, you will need to check and replace the capacitors that are near and next to the vertical IC. We are talking about four capacitors, in this area. These caps, when weak, will create those horizontal lines you talk about. Second, the weak cap will cause the vertical IC to over heat and the pins will separate from their perspective grounds. Thanks for asking me, and show all hands of support!

Hey there,

Is it set to the correct input?
There should be a button on the set or on the remote called "input" or "source".

If you're trying to watch tv, make sure it's set to Cable, etc.

Hope this helps!

My television has a blue

Hello
Your telivision may have its Chroma Ic faulty. Sony TVs uses their own coded numberd Ics, usually begin wi CX xxxxxx, or Philps TDA series Ics. These Ics contains so many sections integrated to one. That is Horixontal, Vertical, Synchronisation for both horizontal and vertical, video out drive section and its matrix, video If section, sound filtering section and so on which comes over 68 sections or so.If any of the among said section gets faulty, your tv will have some problems.
Here you can see a Blue screen. Therefore video out section of your TVs Ic is working well. The red flashing LED in the front of your tv indicates that there is some kind of short, not direct short, inside your TV.
You just do one thing. Open the back cover of your TV and find out the IC I have mentioned above. Switch on your tv, wait for 5 minutes or so, switch it off, unplug it from mains, and touch on the surface of the said Ic with your bare fingers and find whether it is overheats or not. Such types of Ics can be heated upto60 to 65 degree C. Not much more. If that Ic is faulty, it will heat up to a condition, which you can feel.
If there is no overheating is noted, there may be some low voltage missing. Sony TVs works on 112vDC main rail, 8VDC secondary rail, 5VDC for system control section, and 24VDC and 18VDC for vertical output and sound output sections.
Normally we noted is the missing of 8VDC rail. This 8VDC is derived from the secondory voltage of LOT, through a stepdown *V regulator Ic. If that Ics soldering point gets loose conatcted, of that Ic itsef is faulty, This kind of fault can occur.
If you are going to do it by yourself, keep the children away, and let an adult beside you as a precautionary measure. Never touch any part inside your tv while power supply is on. Take out power plug from the socket before touching any parts.
As yours' is a 27" TV, at about 25KVDC [25,0000VDC] points will be there inside. Keep Caution. Ok

Tv cut off and the

Sounds as if your timer is stuck on. Do you have the original remote to this television.? If so, does it also have a dvd or vcr recording device built in? If it does you need to go to the menu, if you can bring the menu up at all, and find the timer settings, and try to get the timer off. If that doesn't work, try leaving the tv unplugged for a while. Hope this helps you.

Picture turns on and off and the color is a

yes. you are not getting green. sony has a circuit that if the picture is not perfect, it will shut off. two solutions....one, take off back and with the tv on, tap pretty hard but not hard enough to break it, on the neck of the picture tube with the plastic end of a phillips screwdriver. this will shake the old sediments in the crt. the tv will probably shut off if you do it right. tap harder and harder many times. fixed. two, rejuvinate the picture tube. fixed. easy

However, you can usually find the code in the user manual of your Sony TV or by contacting Sony customer support. Alternatively, you can try using the auto-search feature on your newstar ntr b28z remote to find the correct code for your Sony TV.

To find the code for your Sony TV using the Newstar NTR B28Z remote, you can try these general steps:

Turn on your Sony TV.
Press and hold the "TV" button on your Newstar remote until it blinks twice.
Enter the code for Sony TVs. Some common Sony TV codes are: 0000, 0011, 0080, 0111, 1234. If none of these work, you can proceed to the next step.
Press the "Power" button on the Newstar remote. If the TV turns off, the code is correct. If not, try a different code.
