Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-27FS120 27" TV - Page 4 Questions & Answers
I have a Sony WEGA KV-27FS120 tv
Have you ohad electrical prooblems or lightning in your area?
Im sorry to inform you that a red light blinking is an indication that the main power supply is good BUT the sweep supply has a problem .. Most likly the high voltage transformer as well as the horizontal transistor is bad. if you have no solid state repair experience, you will not be able to fix this set on your own. You have to troubleshoot the board and test the circuitry.
I could be simple as a fuse but unlikely. Is there a Sony repair shop in your area?

Im sorry tom have to inform you that a red light blinking is an indication that the main power supply is good BUT the sweep supply has a problem .. Most likly the high voltage transformer as well as the horizontal transistor is bad. if you have no solid state repair experience, you will not be able to fix this set on your own as we techs do gfo to school to learn the circuits in these sets and there are safety issues you have to know and equipment you have to have. sorry my freind but you going to need to call or take the set top a trained tech to trouble shoot as you cannot look at the board and see a problem. you have to troubleshoot the board and test the circuitry.

+13 & -13 requires for Vertical Deflection IC and produced by Flyback Transformer, these volts will be produced IF Horizontal deflection circuit works properly. so try to check H-Out Transistor and its necessary volts / signal. Pls also mention correct Model Number to provide you more help.

Sony Wega KV-27FS120
This may be a power supply, and or a high voltage, or a scan ampplifier failure. The set would have to be properly trouble shooted by an experienced TV tech to determine the exact failure. This is not something you can fix yourself at home.

KV-27FS120 blinks 2 times continuously...
This is not for a DIY're.
It is possible that the flyback transformer and the horizontal output transistor have failed. Also there may be damage in the power supply when these components fail.
When troubleshooting, it is important that the tech locate the cause of the fault and also change the related components.
After the parts are changed, the power supply and the high voltage setups must be done to make sure that the voltages are in specs.
This type of work must be done by an experienced TV tech. He will have the necessary test equipment, tools, service manuals, and training. There are some very serious safety issues when working in a TV set.

White horizontal, zig-zagging lines
It sounds to me like you're describing the re-trace of the unit. It is repairable, and more so the sooner you get it to the repair facility.

TV powers on then shuts off
Hello catapracht,
It looks like you shutdown circuit is turning the TV off due to a problem in the HV section. What you are seen is possibly a green cathode short and some blooming occuring. These will caused increased anode voltage and trigger the shutdown circuit. At this point I would not suggest blind swapping of parts but rather you find a repair shop on FixYa.com, or find a shop close to you to have this problem dealt with. Because these are dangerous voltages you will be dealing with and without the training and knowledge of TV repair it would not be adviseable to do these repairs yourself. However you can be of assistance in have this information ready for the repair person.
Thank you,
I hope this helps.

Lines on t.v and stand by light is on.
Hard one to call as I have not seen the newer sony chassis yet BUT it sound like to me a fault in the PIP section if there is one or the crt driver circuit or even in the video jungle IC. It is only three months old so call the store where you got it as there should be a warrantee on the set.Good Luck
