It is the capacitor. Look in other forum for part number. I had exact same problem. Was a $2.00 part.

What is the root cause of capacitor C514 to fail?

I would first suspect the Flyback unit on the D board of causing this (this regulates the power the the other boards and the rest of the TV!
I think that is where to look!

This tv is about 10

Your HD if you have it. TV should have a HDMI plug-in. Or on your color plug-ins. If there not red, green and blue you do not have HD ready tv

Probably the optics block. It needs to be replaced.

However, it looks like you're in luck. Sony will reimburse you.

there could be a few issues.here are a list of things that could go wrong plus part numbers you wanted.

pn# 191002393 thermal fuse

pn# a1085447abarc bulb without housing cheaper

clean fans
other things that cause this:
dmd board or light engine my guess would be bulb and thermal fuse. thanks doctor video

Check out Ceramic Capacitor C514 by the horiz. output transistor (burned/shorted?) My question is how do you find the specs of the capacitor and where do you buy one?

I don't know if this will help you but I just experienced a similiar problem with a sony kp-53s35.
It turns out that a fluid leaked out of a rubber boot on one of the guns( I have no idea what the fluid is or why it is corrosive), down to a circuit board and started to desolve a jumper wire. when it had eaten away enough of the wire, the residue or solution

was conductive enough to cause an arc to a ground bus bar that ran along the circuit board. The TV still worked but would crack and pop like firecrackers inside.
I was able to increase the distance to the ground source by bending the bar away. Then I scraped and scrubbed the board with contact cleaner to remove residue and replaced jumper wire.
Has worked fine since.

Red screen on my sony kp-53s25,

That model is famous for bad green CRTs which can cause the screen to take on a red hue when the green cuts out that can also cause the set to get blurry also. Let me know if you need more assistance.
