You have a problem in the convergence circuit and both convergence output chips need to be replaced.
If you are able (it requires soldering etc) I would be willing and able to tell you what parts and other things are needed. Parts cost should be under 30 dollars total on EBAY.
Let me know if I can assist you.

Not picture
there is a major fault
in the main circuit board (pcb) and needs to be fixed its not a fuse it
not a reset problem its a dynamic fault that could be from a bad
resistor to a downed capacitor if you have knowledge of these components
then check them using a multimeter find the faulty parts and replace
accordingly. but if you have no idea then it will need to go into the
repair shop. a lot of our customers ask us if the unit (tv) etc after
being fixed will be any good or should they buy a new one. a good tech
will fix the unit and in most cases it will be tweeked and work better
but always get a quote up front and hold them to it within $50.00
best of luck to you

My tv will work fine for say 1 minute then keeps
The "D board" is the flyback transformer, but if it was bad, you would have no picture at all. Here is a proven method to get it to work (for a while....)
The adjustment method is to put the set on a video input with nothing conected
to that input. Turn the screen control up slowly until those fine lines appear
and then down until they just disappear. Do this with all three colors. You
might need to turn one of them down a little initially if the set won't stay on
long enough to get to adjustments. You cannot do the adjustment on a TV station
or on live video input. If the adjustments are too high, the set will turn
bright and shutdown. If they are too low you will never get a picture at
all.
You would want to touchup the adjustments after a warmup of a few
hours, then recheck the next day when cold.
If the adjustments are
successfull and the set stays on but the color reproduction is very poor then
one of the tubes is probably bad.
If you are lucky and everything turns
out OK, you will probably need to do it every year or so.

Picture jumps.
Hi,
You most likely have a defective convergence output circuit. You could try to enter into the menu and see, if the adjustments could help. Unless, you need to get the TV repaired. There are two large IC's on that board, and the part number for both of
them is STK4278L. You will also have an open fuse on this board, F901, a
3.15 amp GMA slow blow fuse. Both IC's should be replaced along with
this fuse.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Picture is turning blue .If you shut TV off and
You have a problem with the CRT's - either they are used and need to be replaced (most likely on a tv of that age) or the video final module is failing.
Open the tv, set it on an blank channel and check the voltages on the CRT: if the voltages are steady and equal then the tubes are worn out; if they are different from each other and variable then the video final module has failed (or is about to) - fix it.
Either way it's gonna cost you around $350.

This symptom comes after convergence output ICs failure in rear projection tv. Replacement of convergence output ICs (usually two ICs) will fix the picture problem.
Let me know if you are handy with electronics stuff repair, can remove and install parts in circuit board with proper tools and wish to replace defective ICs in tv to provide you more technical info.
And if you are not comfortable working in tv circuit boards then local tv repair shop will help you because it requires expertise.
Thanks.

The screen turns blue after about 2 minutes of turning on the TV
Sony TVs has an Optical Block issue. If there is an issue with the optical block, then there will be green, blue patches or tint on the TV display. Try resetting the TV to the factory settings and try Power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue still persists, then TV may require service. You can contact the Customer relations team and check for the available options. Sony had repaired free of cost for such issues. Hence, contact the customer relations.
