Where can I buy OEM CRT (red, gree, and blue) for KDP-65XBR2?

I think none are available any more--you may find a company who will rebuild the tube but that is expensive.

My rear projection tv has

This was posted a long time ago, and by now you've probably dealt with it, but the line you describe sounds like retrace blanking being visible. In any case, this might help someone. As the tubes age, the screen voltage needs to be adjusted, which is simple. Behind the right side speaker grill is a panel that covers the screen and focus adjustments (screens are 3 screws along the top, Focus are 3 below them). From left to right they are for red, green, blue, both top and bottom. With no video input and the PIC control set to PRO (whichwill make brightness, contract, etc at 50%) and in a dark room, in your case, turn the top left screw left and the line should disappear. Then turn it right until the line just appears and left slowly until just after if becomes invisible. Normally you'd do this for all of them, but just do one at a time. That's because when you adjust it, the convergence will need to be adjusted. The right way to do that is to go into the service mode and do it manually. I don't know if the "consumer" flash focus will get you back in line or not, but you could give it shot. If you're not familiar with manual convergence, it's not that it's extremely difficult, but is time consuming. Plus since you'll only have to do the red, you have a shot at it even with minimal experience. Good Luck.

I own the Sony television

Sure I would investage the tranformer on the lamp or replace the lamp itself. That would be your cause for a blue screen. A good repair shop would be able to take care of this for about $350-450 repsectivly.

My sugesstion if you know what your doing is test and see if the lamp is getting power if not change that out.

Other then that if your not experienced leave it to a repair shop.

Out of nowhere my tv went blank..what could had

projection TV`s have integrated protection circuits
built into the circuit design, these circuits turn the
power off automatically when a fault has bin detected this
is in order to prevent a more costly repair, these circuits monitor
power supply , vertical and horizontal deflection
over voltage, or x ray, and also faults with convergence circuits.
Diagnosing these faults require test equipment and a good knowledge of
electronic repair techniques, and also a repair manual.

No Picture on KDP65XBR2

You have a shorted blue CRT (picture tube) the lines you saw are called retrace lines and when you can see them, there's either a mis-adjustment of the screen settings to the CRTs or a circuit malfunction or in your case, a bad picture tube. If your TV's serial number starts off with 90..... then you have the defective CRTs Sony put in hundreds of thousands of their projection TVs from late 2001 thru 2003. They made a very poor attempt to resolve customer complaints for a short period of time but now they have left many consumers hanging because they claim they have no more of these CRTs left.

Also, regarding your Circuit City wrranty. Don't give up. These warranties are held by third party insurers mainly G.E Extended Warranties who are stalling for time until a bankruptsy judge forces them to take care of their customers. Contact your state's attorney general to complain and get info on how this will be resolved.

Good Luck!

Repair or buy new?

I would guess your problem is more likely the green drive bd (the circuit bd mounted to the neck of the green tube) it might be the tube but it doesn't have to be and I have seen many drive problems on sonys. I think the usually call it the CG board if you want to locate it and put it on it probably is relatively inexpensive. By the way my opinion for what it is worth the Toshiba is much better than the Sony.
