U have serious convergence board issues. If the solder connections on board go, that will definitely cause the hassle. If you are handy you can remove the convergence board and reheat every ****** connection on that board. Or if you check out google you can carefully put the board in an oven and use the bake setting for about 8 minutes at a temperature I forget.

Buy a used remote on ebay.

Two things come to mind. !. are your cables plugged in right? Yellow->yellow, red->red, white->white? 2. Is the sound on the TV itself turned up?

Its called convergence and this model should use two of the stk-392-560 chips----TVrepair.com sells kits for this based on model number but soldering is involved.your chips are similar to this one but will have different number on them.

no - stk392-560 can only be replaced by the same or a stk392-570when buying replacements make sure they are not the junk generics...anything under 20.00 each are generics....the real sanyo versions are 20-40 each on average but worth it since they will last

the wires pull out but a better way to do this is with everything else out lift the board up so bottom faces rear of set--be careful when soldering at the chips a quite a number of surface mounted parts near the pins on the STKS.

Some TV's have internal speakers on/off in the audio menue.Also if you have a headphone jack does it work ?

If this is a Sony rear projection, you have a bad red picture tube that is shorted. This is a common problem with the Sony. Tapping with the handle of a screwdriver on the neck of the tube can temporairly remove the short.

you need a service remote and a cross hatch and pattern generator. you may also need the service manual for the set in question because this will guide you in the proper way to re-calibrate the tv to factory specs. the above list items are very expensive unless you have a repair shop these won't do you much good for a one or two time thing. your best bet is to take to an authorized service center or a qualified repair shop that can re-calibrate the tv for you.

That sounds like a Convergence IC issue. Have you tried the auto focus? If so does that stop short? If so its most likely the convergence.
