How many times does the red light flash before it pauses and then starts again? This is important info as it helps to diagnose your problem.

hold in on the power button for 10 sec make sure you put the cover on it good first if that dont work unplug it for a few sec then try to hold the power button down for 5- 10 sec that should work

Its a do it yourself thing, meant to be replaced by the customer/owner. the owner manual has full instructions for this.

If picture quality is poor, be sure you aligned the bulb in the correct manner and be sure the cover for the bulb is not loose. Also, you might want to re check you picture setting as it might have gotten reset when you pulled the plug (I hope you pulled the plug when replacing the bulb).
Heres another solution (maybe temporary) to the problem of no picture and no sound for 30 seconds. I had my tv's power saving setting on "standard" before. After I switched it to "reduced", the problem was fixed. It has been almost two weeks without the problem. I think its a good fix until the new bulb comes in the mail.

Check it on a unused video input---if see reddish color area it is the optical light engine in the unit, a lot of this model had this issue--burn in optical engine lens.

You can simpley fix this problem!Just buy a universal remote!BTW: Don't buy a new kind but on older kind of universal remote!It's just 10 bucks in a electric store!

You are hearing the spark gap mounted on the lamp ballast board. If you can hear that sound, that means everything in the lamp driver circuit is working except the lamp!

Get a new lamp.

if you look right behind the fron grill on the sides of the set you will find two thumb screws, one on each side, you loosen these off and then the front grill comes off , you will have to use a little force on this, when you get the grill off in the middle of the set there is another thumb screw, this opens the lamp door. In the replacement lamp box there should be an allen wrench you use this to loosen the screws holding the lamp in, then you just pull the lamp out and replace it with the new one. Make sure the door is back in place and tightened down before attempting to turn this set on. No dlp set will operate with the door off.

If the "bar" is black or darker than the rest of the screen it is a damaged optical light engine--caused by the intense heat from the lamp that shines into the engine.

You either have a Ballast that is not firing the Lamp or you have a communication issue that is not telling the ballast to fire. You can confirm this by opening the lamp compartment and removing the lamp. Turn the set on and see if you are getting a blinking red led that flashes a error code. If you have this then you probably have a bad ballast.
If you don't have a error code flashing you probably have a bad Q-Box. It is a common source for communication issues. You can order it by part# A-1110-067-A through Sony via 1-800-222-Sony if needed. I'm sorry I do no have the part# for the ballast. Retail cost

The optical block needs replacement. Very common issue for that model. The optical block is a very expensive part if you can find them.

3 blinks is indicating that the lamp door cover isnt making contact so the lamp door cover is either attached wrong or the switch is defective.

Replace the G1 board the 6 blinks is indicating low B error ( G1 Board)

Thats a very common issue which is caused by the optical block needing replacement which is a very expensive repair.
