Tv cuts off and green light flashes
Yup, it seems a lamp problem can give a blinking green light over the 10 times (1 - 10 times for diagnostic codes), but in my case rather than replace the bulb if it works for a minute then resets with the green light blinking, do what I did.Take the lamp out and inspect it, it has breather screens top and bottom, if it cant breath because there clogged with dust, clean them, and you can remove the screens, use q-tips and clean the inside. I saved the cost of a lamp and it's working fine!
When i turn on the system, the picture stays on
There is a high possibility that the components over a period of heating and cooling, tend to bring on a problem of dry soldering. So my advice is to check the set for some loose joints that have played on to give you these erratic shut downs or poor performance. The best way to check for loose connections is to tap lightly when the set is powered on, if there is change while tapping then it seems that there are DRY solder joints. Remove main plug, the covers - with caution of high voltage, check for dry joints, and use a good soldering iron to solder all suspected points. Sometimes the fault occurs when the set warms up; if so you can simulate the heat using a hair dryer on the suspected areas, try with the power supply, distribution, Processor controller, driver controllers on the A/V related sections. Also the use a FREEZE-IT spray can simulate the components to cool and show up the fault. It can also be related to WEAK ELECTROLYTIC capacitors as the value can reduce in time. Based on the above method you must be able to locate the area of fault and solder the sections.

The fan going off can very well be the cause of this problem. Please messure the DC voltage being supplied to the fan and let me know . Also get me the board marking of teh fan(EX; Fan 01, 02, etc.) as your set has 4 fans. Please provide this info so that I can tell you if its the fan thats faulty or the circuit that its drawing power from.
SUSPECT THE THERMAL FUSE, SEEMS
To reach the thermal fuse you will have to remove the optical block assembly. Remove the back of the tv, about 12 screws. Removed the large support plate, and the small support bar on the left. Remove the buttom screw on the large fan on the lower right. Remove the connections to the bass speaker and the fan connections. Slighty lift on the large board assembly on the left and it comes right out after the small support is removed. There are two hidden screws holding in the optical block. You will need a long phillips screwdriver to loosens these two screws. They will loosen, but not come out. This will allow you to remove the optical block enough to to get to the front section of the TV. You should see the bulb attached to the optical block. If you look close, where the bulb was resting, there is a plastic plate with two screws, and a wire running through it. That is the Thermal Fuse. Remove the two screws and you will be able to remove the Fuse. Install the new fuse and reassemble. I recommend you remove the cooling fan on mounted above the bulb and clean it. This fan gets very dirty. Good luck.
Television keeps shuttting off and
I have a Sony Grand Wega 55 HDTV, Its 6 years old. Problem is as follows: I press the power button and the TV warms up and goes on for about 30 seconds than shuts off to a no power screen , with the power light flashing green. Than after about 60 seconds the TV comes back on for about another 30 sec and shuts off again. The longer i leave the TV on the longer it stays off when it starts blinking the green light. Can anyone tell me if its the sensor or something else? Is the part I need attainable with the ability to replace it myself.
Look forward to your replies.
