The problem is the DAV-BC150
I can think of two issues.
1. It can be that the optical head is weak and so is not scanning- check with original DVD to confirm.
2, It can be due to friction of the drive, the speed of the spindle motor can cause this issue. Also check if the height of the spindle is the correct alignment to the optical unit.
I CONECTED A DIFFERENT SPEAKER TO MY HOME THEATER,
Wish for a Time Machine or an Undo Button to appear. It's made for 4-ohm loads so it's not likely you gave ita much lower load unless you sorted the speaker wires or incinerated the speakers.
Disconnect everything and see if it still lives.

I think what is happening is that your soundsystems settings are set up to use a 5.1 surround and
when media like a standard stereo (2 channel) CD is placed into the player it doesn't have the extra channels. Your system should have settings to change between standard stereo mode and
advanced sound modes like Dolby 5.1 and DTS. Once the system is se to match the media its playing it should work fine.

Hello,
The lens of your dvd player might be dirty, that is why you get a distorted image, i advice you get a lens cleaner to clean the lens of your dvd player, with this, the picture should be clear, but if the problem still persist, then, i means the lens of your dvd player is weak and will need to be replace, as it can no longer read all the disk.

Unless you still tune programs off the air from the TV tuner and an antenna - what possible TV program would come into the TV that the DirectTV box wouldn't already provide high quality sound and video for? You should run the audio from the DirectTV box to the receiver.
DVDs still show brilliant image. Absolutely no sound from speaker
check to see that the audio connection is correct, yellow video, red and white is audio, if you have hdmi capabilities make shure the cable is not used or dammaged ,that was one thing that happened to me and would only show a picture , i went and got a new one and that solved the problem ,but don,t go run out and buy one before you find that is the problem , just check with a cable that you know is working and if you are using hdmi , check to see if your rca cables when connected do the same thing , this is a way to isolate the issue , all in one dvd surround sound systems are handy but not practical , when you get into seperates it,s easier to solve the problem ,also check your warranty for possible warranty repair .hope this helps ,sincerely glenn
