discharge the output circuit! If you don't you will blow a 10 ohm resistor every time. I've worked on hundreds of these receivers I know. They need the output circuit soldered at the voltage driver ic's and quite possibly some capicitors replaced on the digital board. The caps mounted near the heat sinks dry up the fastest. These are nice amps. Larry's Electronics Sacramento Ca. [email protected]

What's your problem?sony v444es 5,1 wont turn on, only clicks the relay on power board non stop

Sounds like your power transformer is bad. You might also check the power board for cracks. This model had a history of that.

Sony V444ES Receiver

Ours started doing this also now up to 20 min of clicking before it turns on.  My thought is that it is a bad power supply since once its on it works fine.

Hi - I have a

What's a rock speaker? All you will hear with one speaker on the Rear Right output is the Rear Right channel which is typically for effects and ambience. You DO have a manual, right?

Individual speakers commonly have different responses given the same amplifier input. Where you physically place a speaker once it's electrically connected is up to you. Speakers placed outdoors might not have the sound-re-enforcement of nearby or adjacent walls as indoor speakers do so they will sound weaker.

My Sony STR-V444ES goes into

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Used to have same problem with my PIONEER stereo. When I hit a bump the stereo fails. Figured out that the Red wire is loosen so I secured it. Hit a bump again same error occurs, checked the red wire and it's fine. Restart the stereo again then it's good. It's like that this machine needs to be in good intact position. Might aswell try to secure yours.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Got a humm noise when I turn receiver down,it does

Chances are it's the Large Electrolytic Capacitors in the power supply. As you have it on all functions. These are to filter out the 50/60HZ hum in the mains supply and so that's most likely what you are hearing!

Popping sound at random times out of my AV Reciever/Surround sound system when video is playing.

Clean and tighten all connections. Get a can of spray tuner and contact cleaner from Radio Shack to clean the volume and tone controls if you have access to the body of those controls. Some disassembly required. If this doesn't help, suspect a bad variable resistor in the amplifier circuit.

Stops working after a few mins with cd player playing

One of three things: speaker wire short, shorted/or blown speaker, or a bad output chip. First and easiest way to check is to disconnect all speakers, turn it on, turn it up, and wait. If that's ok, begin connecting one speaker at a time with the unit off, then turn on and play. When you get to the speaker or wire with the problem, it will short and go into protection. Disconnect all speaker wires again and only hook up the speaker that shorted the receiver and test. If it shorts, swap speakers with the same wire and test again. If a different speaker on the same wire causes the unit to short, replace the wire. if it doesn't, you need to test the speaker with a multimeter or disassemble if possible, check the wiring internally on the speaker. Check the impedance, should be 8ohms or 6ohms depending on the drivers. then check for resistance. If your meter says 1... it's shorted and needs to be replaced. Hope this helps

Sony Receiver STR-V444ES and Blueray

You might have to go into the players setup and select the output and audio stream options. If it is set for PCM only it will not receive the Dolby or DTS signals if you selected them in the DVDs audio selection menu. There may also be a signal select in the Sony receiver to assign the digital inputs to selected units.

Hope this helps

Cheers
