Connecting playstation
good day,
i am eltoyosi and am here to help you.
the first question i will ask you is this.....does your TV set have an av-output?
if it does then make sure you plug the AV cords from the game in the following manner...........
the yellow cord is for picture display and make sure it goes into the yellow cord on your TV set.
the red and white cords are both for sounds of the left and right speakers on your TV set. try this connection and you are set to have fun with your game,
thanks.

No power up

If a capacitor blows out, then it is probably having a higher voltage
on it than it is rated for. You don't say what the voltage rating was
for the original capacitor or what the voltage rating was for the
replacement. Did you try to measure the voltage in the 10 seconds
before the replacement blew??
Sylvania 6842PE
This is a power source problem and it will need to be fixed by a pro! This is a very common problem with the Sylvania sets! (cost to fix 250.00-350.00)

Power Supply
No. They are entirely different. Panasonic was the supplier of the 6842PE and Funai was the supplier of the 6842PEM.
My 42 inch
when i turn the t.v on it switches back off. to standby mode.it also makes a little glitchy sound after it has turnd itself off.
what do i do?
After i turn on tv- it turns off right away by itself
That board has the Sylvania part number 1EDM10583 and the price is about right. It might also need some adjustments after installation. Sylvania has no circuit diagram for that board. The TV was assembled by Panasonic and also was used in a Magnavox model. Panasonic may have had the power board designed and made for them by someone else. A technician would have to have some very good luck to repair a board like that without a schematic. Sometimes board rebuilders like PTS have the capability of repairing a board like that. You just have to ask them.

The service manual troubleshooting procedure says to replace the control circuit board and if that doesnt fix it to replace the display panel.
Blown Capacitor
There should be a circuit designation for this part marked on the PC board, for example C631. Start by posting that designation. Having that will allow anyone with access to the service information to post the value of the part.

You have a power supply problem ,most likly the main board will have to be replaced, My best advice is to call out an authorized Sylvania dealer because if you make a mistake on what board is bad, they will not take it back. Play it safe. Good Luck

If you have it hooked up to a cable box, then you should be abl to change the resolution setting through the cable box remote control, if not call your cable provider to access the menu that does the resolution settings
