Uniden BC350C Base Scanner - Page 4 Questions & Answers
How can i program a higher frequency on this
Top end on the 350C is 956MHz, and it won't go any higher, no matter what you do. You may know it already, but the 350C is not capable of "standard" keyboard programming - direct entry of a frequency via the keyboard. Rather, you must locate an active frequency using the SEARCH or SCAN mode, and then transfer it into the PRIVATE bank (bank 7). Detailed instructions for doing this are found in the owners manual which you can download and print, at no cost, here:

How do you manually program
As evidenced by the lack of a numerical keyboard, your scanner is an oddball that does not allow direct keyboard programming of a known frequency. Rather, you can only transfer a displayed frequency from the SCAN mode or SEARCH mode into the PRIVATE bank. Details for doing this can be found on pages 24 through 26 of the Uniden owners manual. If you don't have the manual, you can download and print it, at no cost, here:

Programming a frequency
hello,The BC355C is an oddball unit that does not allow true manualprogramming. You cannot take a list of known frequencies and programthem into the scanner. Instead. a frequency must be located (anddisplayed) during a search or scan operation in order to be programmedinto scanner memory. Need the manual for your scanner? You candownload/print it free of charge here:

Uniden bc145xl police scanner NO SOUND
It sounds like you have smoked the audio amplifier. It is an 8 pin IC marked "IC2" on the circuit board where it is mounted. You may also be able to see "TBA820M" stamped on the case of the IC itself. Since you said that smoke was visible from the speaker jack, it will likely be obvious which component it is once you open the scanner.
Unfortunately this scanner has no internal or external fuses.
If this does not work, go to www.mods.dk, as they have a downloadable schematic and troubleshooting manual for this model. The site does require a free registration, but does not spam or sell your address. I have downloaded several manuals from them over the years, and all were extremely helpful.

Sorry, but the BC350C will only allow you to scan or search one band at a time. As you identify active frequencies in the different bands though, you can transfer (program) up to 50 frequencies into the PRIVATE band, and then scan the combined list. How do i program the bc350a scanner
Your scanner does not have a standard keyboard programming function. Rather you must "capture" a frequency in SCAN or SEARCH mode, and then transfer (program) it into the scanner's PRIVATE bank. For detailed instructions on doing this, you can download/print the scanner's operating manual here:
