- This happens a lot to people just setting up a scanner like this. Try these suggestions, I think you'll be up and running in no time.
- You have to make sure the BAUD rate is set and make sure your PC control is turned on in your scanner. A BAUD is the rate per second data is sent.. A BAUD rate of 38400 (or what ever BAUD the software is at). I think parts 3,4 and 5 in the your scanner menu cover this. If you have the FIFO buffer set then remove it from your settings > control panel > comm ports. You will get the best results if you have that software read the bank before writing to it. Relabel your comm port settings if you need to as well ie. port 1, port 2 etc.
- If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
- Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa,

Setting DELAY for All Search Ranges
You can set the scanner to have a delay after the end of a transmission before searching
resumes. This slows searching, but helps you prevent missing replies on a frequency.
1:SERVICE OPTION → :CHAIN SEARCH → 3:DELAY
The delay is turned off.
The delay time is 1 second.
The delay time is 2 seconds.
The delay time is 4 seconds.
When the scanner stops on a transmission, you must press RSM to resume
6: -2 SECONDS
The scanner only stops on transmissions for 2 seconds, then automatically
resumes. To hold on the transmission, press /HOLD during the 2-second pause.
7: -5 SECONDS
The scanner only stops on transmissions for 5 seconds, then automatically
resumes. To hold on the transmission, press /HOLD during the 5-second pause.
8: -10 SECONDS
The scanner only stops on transmissions for 10 seconds, then automatically
resumes. To hold on the transmission, press /HOLD during the 10-second pause.

Try tuning known frequencies, such as the NOAA weather channels, to verify the working condition of your scanner. If it picks them up, you don't have your local police system/frequencies programmed properly. If there's no reception, even on NOAA, you have an antenna or receiver problem that may need professional attention.
In case you need it, you can download/print the manual for your scanner here:
