Fuji won't stay on

Most likely explanation for this is the presence of dirt/sand in the lens unit and in the zoom motor/gearbox assembly which is part of the lens unit. When camera detects problem in the zooming process it will shut off.
Solution : will have to go in for service but should not cost you arm and a leg cause no spares are required to sort this problem out.

Fuji finepix s3000

This is an easy possibility, Try using an eraser on all the contacts for the batteries. The ones on the battery door and the ones inside the camera. Try to get them shiny, the harder white erasers work best. If that doesn't solve to power problem, the camera may have blown its power fuse internally. That repair would likely cost 50-60$

No power

The green light just has to do with "manual focus" it isn't supposed to stay on... When you see a blue screen, that means you have the camera on the setting to where you can see your pictures. You should be able to tell the difference, there is OFF, A play button that shows you your pictures, and a camera for when you are ready to take pictures

1st question is can your camera do this ? Not all can. Check out the manual- if the book does not tell you and the bigger manual in PDF ion the disk does not mention it then you must assume your camera does not have this function
