Movie mode playback, if filmed in portrait position can you rotate the movie after to view it the right way up?

The only way to see the movie the right way up is to turn your monitor on its side, I'm afraid. You also might be able to take it to a professional studio, who might possibly have the capability, but you will still wind up with a lot of blank space to the right and left of your image.

Completely white screen..

Taking a very cold camera into a warm room guarantees that the interior will get water condensation immediately, I'm afraid. Obviously, this is to be scrupulously avoided. If it still isn't working, I'm afraid the interior workings may be corroded.

Wrong Language

2 possible solutions for you. Take the batteries out. Press the power button (with batteries out). Nothing will happen. It's OK. Leave batteries out for 4-6 hours. Re-install batteries. Camera should default to initial set-up screen, where it will ask you for the language of choice.
Solution 2 is turn camera on. Press menu and navigate to set-up (configuracion). Navigate to language (lang.) and select english. That should take care of it. Hope it helps.

Fuji Finepix E550 no manual focus

It works fine for me. Reember it works ONLY in P mode. The problem is due to the Fuji E550 does not provide focus indicator, you have to judge the image to see when the object is in right focus.

Camera

It will likely need a replacement screen. The repair will likely cost 50$ or more with parts and labor. Since the E550 has a viewfinder, the camera is still usable but settings would be a guess and results would not be know until you download the photos to your computer.

Reversion to defaault settings

I read that if you hold the memory button down it resets the camera to factory settings. Could you be doing this inadvertently? Probably not your answer, but it's worth a shot?

Charged and ready to shoot

Why do you say they've expired? Rechargeables last for 1000 cycles, which should give most people several years use. If they're corroded, go to Radio Shack or Best Buy for replacements. Be sure to charge AT LEAST 14 hours to get the most out of the batteries.

Zoom error

I had the same problem with mine and I tried several suggestions, BUT the only one that has worked is to gently grab the lens, pull it out as far as it will go until fully extended. While keeping it extended turn the lens to the right until you hear a click. Once you hear the click, release the lens and turn the power button on and then back off again. This should take care of the problem. A word of warning. ALWAYS make sure your fingers do not touch the front of the lens when you power on the camera. Even the slightest bit of obstruction seems to make the problem reoccur. Another note. I had tried this several times until I finally heard the click, so please don't give up on it, just keep trying. This will work and it will save you a lot of time and money having it fixed.

Focus error finepix hs10

About the HS10 autofocus problem, I discovered the cause and solution. It is a problem of camera design, and is caused by three screws securing the CCD sensor. These screws are not properly secured and the vibration eventually dropping. In two cameras with the same defect, the screws were loose. These screws adjust the sensor position relative to the lens and the sensor is loose when out of position not allowing proper focus. The solution is to disassemble the camera and secure the screws. These screws can not be too tight they need to be adjusted to position the CCD sensor correctly. The camera is difficult to dismantle because several wires are soldered. Care must be taken to discharge the capacitor of the flash, this may cause an electric shock and burn the camera board. Those who want to try the repair, follow the link to the service manual. http://elektrotanya.com/fujifilm_finepix_hs10_hs11_sm.pdf/download.html Milton Maenishi

I have a FinePix S1 and the display screen is not working. All other modes are working but no display

Many occasions LCD on camera display never fails but back light fails unless physical damage to LCD screen. Hold a torch to display when camera is on you will see faint(black and white) image means LCD is ok but back light is failed, it's replaceable but needs little skill to replace. Or replace full Screen with backlight. This is easy. Just remove back cover, remove display by loosening flex lock, put back new display carefully lock it holding flex with one finger. Please do not touch display flex contacts.
