Can I record to vcr program from my dvr?
This need to be transferred in first place to your computer, then you should render it to MPEG2 720x480 Standard Resolution using any Non Linear Editing Software... next you should burn it on a DVD-R using a software like Adobe Encore DVD or any other software to burn DVDs...
Clip noise when playing tapes
The only to suss this out it to remove the top cover and watch the mechanism as it plays. You should be able to spot or at least hear where the noise comes from.
How do you record somthing
you need to set up the vcr clock and then setup scheduled recording as per your VCR manual. This is usually found in the VCR menu accessed with the VCR remote.
What channel does the vcr
If you meant to conncct the RF out of the VCR to the RF in of the TV then mostly the RF outputs come in the bands VHF1 CH3 or CH 4 . Also it comes mainly set from factory in the UHF CH36.
Iff there is interference in your area due to local channel the channel can be shifter by trimming the modulator.
So tune the VCR accordingly or Use the AV inputs, video out to video in and audio outs to audio in of TV.
Tape ejects after playing for about 30 minutes
it could be dirty pinch rollers causing the tapes to tighten and be ejected. try fast forarding the tape to the end and rewinding. if this does not cure the problem, run a wet cleaner tape through.
VCR will not record with new digital cable box
The short and simple solution is to tune the VCR to the channel that the cable box is set to (4), and then tune teh TV to the VCR's output channel (3). If you do this you should be able to see the Cable channel through the VCR tuner and then record. Any other solution would require figuring out how to set both the VCR and the cable box to the same channel, but it sounds as if you have ruled out any possibility of being able to do that.
Emerson EWV403 VHS VCR stops taping and powers off spontaneously
There are probably a few different ailments which can cause this. One is if something is afoul in tape transport. I'd think the problem would occur whether in record or playback however.
If the tape takeup reel drive is slipping, tape takeup might intermittently stop, and cause the machine to power off (this is to avoid spilling tape in the machine). With the cover off, insert a tape, hit play, and see if tape takeup is steady, especially nearer the end of the tape, when the right reel is filling up.
An associated problem is if the reel sensor is intermittent- this sensor tells the logic whether or not the takeup reel is turning- again, this is to avoid massive tape spillage and damage.
Another possibility is a dirty mode switch- this switch tells the logic circuitry what position the mechanicals are in. It is probably located on the underneath side of the deck. Sometimes it can be disassembled and cleaned with a cotton swab wetted with contact cleaner. Others must be replaced.
Hopefully this helps- perhaps another tech has a better solution too.
Emerson ewv404 catv to antenna
There is an option in the menu which changes the tuner from cable to antenna (off-air or broadcast) mode. On many/most late VCRs, you must have the remote box to access these functions.
Old VCRs (15 years +) might have had a switch to make this change.
Stuck video tape
Is the tape protection guard rotated upward (and the tape engaged with the heads)?
