Targus APA30US AC Laptop Charger AC Adapter Questions & Answers
My computer shuts down when i plug in the charger
Assuming this AC laptop charger functioned correctly at one time. Several Possibilities: (1) laptop charger has failed ... connect another compatible charger to your computer to test for this; (2) or the battery has failed ... remove battery and test if the charger plugged in directly powers the laptop.
HI there! I am using
The wattage is to different, the wattage for the adapter is 90watts, and the charge for the advent is only 65w.
You can always try it, but you risk damaging your battery, or motherboard.
The blue light on the charger will not light up
The
most likely scenario is that you need a new battery. Before making
that decision you should run some diagnostic tests. It's possible that
the battery has completely discharged and is struggling to begin
charging again. Try some of these approaches.
1. Download and install BatteryMon 2.1 from this site: http://www.passmark.com/products/batmon.htm
2. Run BatteryMon.
3. Look to see if BatteryMon can recognize your battery and if the battery is charging.
4.
If the battery cannot be recognized you should try plugging and
unplugging the battery to see if you can get BatteryMon to recognize the
battery. If you have no success skip to step 6.
5. If the battery is
recognized but won't charge, then you should shutdown Windows with the
battery installed and try and charge the battery with the computer off
but plugged in. If you still don't see a solid light indicating the
battery is charging, take the battery out and plug it back in; several
times if necessary.
6. If you still have no success try this similar method:
6a. With the computer powered off remove the battery.
6b. Power it on and leave it for a couple of minutes until it fully boots up.
6c. Carefully slide the battery back into the computer and leave it on for 10
minutes.
6d. If you're lucky the battery should now start to charge (if it
does leave it charging for at least 3-4 hours straight and you should be
back in business).
6e. Repeat this process several times.
7. One last method to try is the freeze method.
7a. Take the battery out and put it in a zip lock bag. Remove ALL of the air out and seal it.
7b. Place it in the freezer for 2-6 hours and take it out.
7c. Place the battery in
the laptop and connect the charging cable while the laptop is OFF. Wipe all condensation off the battery as it forms with a paper towel.
If all goes well, you should be able to bring the battery back to life.
This usually happens when you let the battery reach 0% and don't charge
it for an extended period of time.
Hopefully one of these approaches will cause your battery to begin charging.
Good luck and thanks for using FixYa.
How to open a Targus Chill Mat Pad AWE61US N2953
Without specific details about the type or model of the mat you're referring to, it's challenging to provide precise disassembly instructions. However, I can offer some general tips that might help you access the inside of the mat for cleaning without causing damage:
- Consult the Manual: If the mat came with a user manual or assembly instructions, refer to these documents first. They often contain disassembly guidelines or tips for cleaning.
- Look for Access Panels or Fasteners: Many mats or fitness equipment have access panels secured by screws, clips, or fasteners. Carefully inspect the mat's exterior for any visible fasteners or panels that might provide access to the inside components.
- Check for Removable Parts: Some mats might have removable parts like covers or casings designed for cleaning purposes. Gently try to detach these removable components, following any instructions in the manual or indications on the mat.
- Contact Manufacturer Support: If you're unable to find a way to disassemble the mat safely or if you're concerned about causing damage, consider reaching out to the manufacturer's customer support. They can provide specific guidance on disassembly and cleaning for your particular mat model.
- Online Resources: Look for online resources such as instructional videos or forums where individuals might have shared tips or experiences on disassembling and cleaning similar mats.
Always approach disassembly cautiously to avoid causing damage or voiding any warranties. If you're unsure or uncomfortable about disassembling the mat yourself, seeking professional assistance from a technician or contacting the manufacturer for guidance might be the best course of action.
