Olympus Camedia C-2020 Zoom Digital Camera Questions & Answers
Which cable use to download olympus c-2020 z
You don't need a cable. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as
Picasa.
I recharged the batteries (Ni-MH) for my Olympus
Firstly check your charger. I was having problems with my batteries packing up after about 1 hours use. Now I only charge 2 at a time (its a 4 battery charger) and the problem is no more. There is a limited life on batteries, check how old they are and if you've had them more than 3 or 4 years, I suggest you buy replacements. Can't r read chinise how to change languege
I bought my C2020Z about 10 years ago, second hand and the language was in Japanese. No good to me, so I took it to a camera shop and the technician had to get a program from Olympus and he reprogrammed it for me to English. I never had a problem with it as everything was in English. From memory, it cost about AUD$100. Seeing I only paid $250 for the camera, I believed it was a good deal all round. I hope this answers your question. John
Card error always appears on my olympus c-2020 zoom help me!
this might work for you, just did for my C-2020 Z Camedia with smartcard (card errors, 'format card' screen, even dumping taken photos) Being an old overused 32MB smartmedia card, thought that was the issue, but not:
I removed the card and simply blew into the open card slot a few times, using short, 'early breath' thrusts as likely not good to get too much heat/condensation in there. Bingo! Works perfectly again after months of not. Try it out, can't hurt, and save the $49 on a new card which would likely still malfunction, anyway.
My camera does not recognize
this might work for you, just did for my C-2020 Z Camedia with very similar problem (card errors, 'format card' screen, even dumping taken photos) Being an old overused 32MB smartmedia card, thought that was the issue, but not:

Pics are blurry
Have you changed the settings in the camera? When are you getting this problem? Is it when you try to shoot in low light?Does it appear like the pictures are shaken or is it out of focus? If they are shaken, use a higher ISO to shoot. If it appears out of focus, first check the lens for some smears. Clean the lens with a clean dry cotton cloth.
Check if there is fungus on the lens (this appears like spider's web or crack marks). If there is fungus, or you are still getting pctures blurred, take it to an authorized service center.
Time exposure ?
...with the 2020 in "A/S/M" mode, you can set shutter speed to as long as 16 seconds...
Help for a novice !
you should be able to set the shutter speed to the longest setting and do this. The setting is limited to the max programmed length I believe, which on the 4040 is 16 seconds.
How important you would rate the USB feature?
There you go then Nick. Not only a satisfactory answer but when you get it you'll find it a very satisfactory solution. Why worry about USB in camera - that's second-rate as a download compared with a USB reader - card direct to computer (to USB port) via the reader is about 10 times the speed of a camera USB to serial. By the way, you'll just LOVE the 2020 - especially when you shoot in low light with that f2 lens to help you. Set it up right. HQ at 1600x1200 will do you fine to start with and give you plenty of pics on a modest card (about 64 on a 32Meg). 'P' mode with AutoWB, Auto ISO, Auto-everything and just shoot away and have fun - great shots
A/C adapter
The camera should be fully functional with just the AC adapter. I hope you're using the Olympus adapter and not a substitute. Some substitutes will work ok but others can cause problems. The AC adapter output should be 6.5 volts at 2000 ma (2 amps).

Olympus Camedia E10 won't power on with AA NI-MH batteries but works fine with AA ALKALINE, what can I do?
Always charge batteries before using it for the first time, or if you have not used it for a long period. 3 months is a very long period.
Always charge sets of batteries (2 or 4) together.
Make sure your rechargeable batteries are all good. One defect in a set is killing for the whole set
Don't use barrettes from different sets or brands together.
I had one brand good NiMH batteries and a very expensive charger from the same brand. The charger destroyed all my rechargeable (more than 60 now). When I first discovered the batteries were dropping out, I stopped using the charger, but it did not prevent all batteries to die in the following months. Every time on dropped out I had to change the set. I tried using up the others by grouping the ones with the same Ri, but not longer then a few months and I had a box full to trow away.
Never use a quick charger, capable of charging them within an hour or faster. Us a charger that indicates the Ri is still low enough, so you can see what batteries are bad.
Check you are using a charger for NiMH batteries.
I would try another set (new) because buying Alkaline is also not cheap.
I used 2700 mAh and later 2600 mAh rechargeable, all dead now. since a few weeks I'm now using 2300 mHh from another brand, costing 1/5 of the "best" I had before, and they are doing great. I won't charge them with the quick charger.
Never use manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries in electronic devices.
These batteries are only to be used in flash lights.
How to use zoom on c-860L
This 14 year old camera, does not have a zoom lens. It has a 5,5 mm lens, giving it a angle of view of about a 35 mm lens of a Full frame camera. However, you should be able to zoom digital 2 times.
I can't find a manual, to help you on this, but the quality will be the same as cropping into a frame on your computer. So if you do put the pictures on a computer, you also can "zoom" in to the parts you want. Be aware a 1 megapixel camera, does not offer that much of detail.
