Bad picture

there is an inherent problem with philips CRTs...they are the ONLY CRTS on the market that have fluid (Glycol) inside them that have to be changed over time. When they are manufactured, they are filled with glucol and bacteria can get inside with the fluid...this bacteria eventually grows and populates within the CRT and causes it to get cloudy...it only happens with the blue and green ..never the red..cause the red emits UV or IR which kills the bacteria. This could be your problem...or...it could be your high voltage...you can manually turn up the screens on your tubes to brighten each tube individually. Let me know how it comes out.....

Philips 32 inch wide screen tv model 1001940732p10423

Common issue with Philips projections is contaminated cooling fluid in most likely 2 of the 3 CRT's. This will require a technician to clean and refill.

60P8341 Rear Projection - Remote does not work

Your TV needs the part 313501707611 - it's the keyboard that's the cause of your problems - but here's the catch... Philips does not make that part anymore... they say that you need to either find someone to fix the keyboard (which I've had no luck on) or buy a new Television from them... hmm, a $2000.00 TV that needs a $20.00 part now becomes a plant holder in my living room because Philips wants us to purchase a new TV from them.

Tv turns on and off by itself, volume buttons on controller and panel don't work after while

An all too common problem with that unit is the Ssb or (small signal board, Philips p/n# PH3912725871 located just behind the tuner. It's actually a simple fix for a shop, what we call a plug & play repair but the part isn't so cheap. Last one I did thursday I bought from Vance Baldwin $267.82 plus shipping and core. You get the core back when you return the old part.
You might call a few shops like you know what you're doing and ask what they charge for changing the Ssb in your unit.
Have a great day!

Model 60p8341 philips tv

Your Tech is trying to rip you off - it's not the SSP Board - it's the keyboard - part # 313501707611, however, if SSP Board is some fancy tech name for it, then it's only a $15.00 part, $35.00 at the most, but they don't sell them anymore. So he must know something that we don't know....

Picture convergence

There are 2 large convergence output IC's and one of them has burned out. The defective convergence IC should be replaced and the convergence circuits realigned by a qualified tech experienced in projection sets.
