Just a guess here : They want to sell the remote and KNOW most universals will either not program for this set or if do will be missing key and needed features only the correct remote will have.

No.The tv video board have dead components,that the board where it is connected to the CRT-(tv picture tube).Troubleshooting that video board and changes parts should fix ur tv problems.Hope ur tv problems,it is not the video board main big IC colors processor inverter.This big IC is a pain to change and probally not in the market anymore.Troubleshoot test all the capacitors around that big IC colors processor inverter alot of times just those few capacitors are dead only.

Turn tv on picture is clear and sharp. no problems at all. However, after 30 or 60 seconds picture is blurry, color is distored. stays that way

try to go to menu then change your tv air to cable std or irc then click channel search..

I had a similar problem. Poor picture quality, and colors way out of balance. The problem: too much dust on the circuit board. I opened it up (remove 8-10 screws and don't forget the 2 little ones holding the coax/cable connection), gently vacuumed off the circuit boards (the bottom one and the one on the back of the tube). It works perfectly now, without ever repeating the problem. This may need to be done every few years, especially in dusty environments. It has also worked on my computer motherboard, and power supply. I think a build up of dust can cause a very weak short across the closely spaced circuits. Give it a try, it's free and you don't have anything to lose! Just be gentle.

Open it up and check to see it the circuit board attached to the tube is seated all the way down. Both of mine were not attached that well so I pushed them back down and have not had any problems since.

I had the same problem with my refurbished HT-30744 model and my mom's HT-32744 model. It was either try to fix it or buy a new one, so I figred had nothing to lose.

I removed the back cover, unseated the picture tube driver board from the neck of the picture tube (it just pulls off), put on a dab of di-electric grease on the connector on the card, reseated the card, removed and re-applied more grease, reseated the card and the picture has like new for 2 weeks now!

This was a very easy fix.

2. How old is the TV?
3. Is the TV dead or do you see only LED blinking?
4. Any sequence of the blinks?

Not really sure how much the tv weighs, but I know it is a bunch. I have 2 of these t.v.s. One I bought at Wal-mart and after about 6 months it started doing this green screen also. I would normally give the side of the tv a good wack and it would go back to normal for awhile. The other tv I bought from my neighbor who was moving for $25. The problem with this one was the "no picture but I have sound". If I wacked this one I could get the picture to come back on for a while, but it would go out again. Well just the other day I took the back off the "no picture" tv and was looking around. I noticed that the circuit board that is attached to the picture tube was loose. I pushed it back down on the tube and put it back together and the picture has been fine since. So I thought I would check the one with "green screen" issues and sure enough that circuit board was loose also. Pushed that one all the way back down and have not had any issues with that tv either. Hopefully that fixed my problem, I guess time will tell. Maybe it will fix yours also.

if i was there it would be, but i do not know about the price ranges for your area. i believe that you have a transistor in the back of your crt neck board that is out. call for price ranges in your area. i am sorry that i could not be more specific about the prices. have a nice day

Do you still have the original remote? If so there is a button that says "Pix shape" that will change your aspect ratio for you. If you are watching something in HD it should say "full". If it is analog it will say "normal" in 4x3 format. If you want it stretch hit it till it says "zoom 1" or "zoom 2". If you don't have the original remote I am not sure how you would change it. You can find them on ebay if you need one. Hope this helps.

You have to find out the cost of the repair itself to make a decision.

I am not familiar with this model. I can speculate from experience going by your description.

If it is a CRT set and there is no picture the fault may be with the high voltage section, or a scan failure. It is also possible that the CRT itself is in failure.
