Dvd tray wont open
Hello
1. Turn off your DVD player. You do not want to risk electrical shock while working with it.
2. Locate your DVD player's manual Eject button. It is usually a small hole located underneath the DVD drawer.
3. Insert a stiff wire-such as a paperclip or safety pin-into the hole. Push gently and the drawer should open partway. Gently pull the drawer the rest of the way open.
4. Remove the DVD and see if there is a problem with it. Most DVD player drawers get stuck when a DVD is warped or the label is starting to peel. If the DVD is warped, discard it. If the label is peeling, remove the label.
5. Turn your DVD player back on. If it gets stuck again on a different DVD, then the problem may be with your DVD player rather than with your DVDs.
6. You might need to see a technician.

Hello,
My AMU DVD player is
There a few things you can try. First is to open the disc tray. Blow really hard inside about 3 times. This will clean the dust of the laser lens.
Or use a can of air duster which will blow the dust off.
Or remove the top of the player, clean the laser eye lens with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab.
Cleaning usually helps and solves the issue. If it did not help, you may have a faulty laser lens circuit or bad circuit board. The circuit can be tested with a multimeter

Hi,
Very sorry for your loss. As always the first step is to make sure the player is connected to the wall outlet and turned on.
To put a disk in the DVD you should push the "Eject" button to open and close the tray it looks like a home(a triangle over a dash) on the front side of the box down left corner of the tray. You have the same button on the remote marked "Eject". Push either once, put the disk with the shiny side down on the tray and push the Eject button again to feed the tray back into the player. Usually the disk starts automatically and you will see a menu on the TV with alternatives like "Play the movie", "Setup", "Scenes",... you may highlight the "Play the movie" alternative, using "Up", "Down", "Left" and "Right" and then press the "OK" button. Or just push the "Play" button either on the box or the remote control. If you click "
Here "you can download the manual in PDF form. To open it in your pc you'll need "Adobe Acrobat Reader" (or any other PDF reader) installed.
I will gladly answer your questions
Best Regards
Bruce

Remote for DVD S99
I have great news for you. Yes, there is a universal remote and it will operate the S99 and (I suspect) any other product you have. I have been buying 'universal' remotes for more than 15 years and have NEVER found one to work until this one. Logitech Hamony Universal Remote. I had a $50 off coupon for Costco where it was sold for $100 (so I got it for $50). My wife is so excited she can hardly stand it. With 4 remotes in each room, she is clueless about how to watch TV again after it has been setup to watch something else. But, with the new remote (all others have been stored away), she has all she needs.
No, I don't work for Logitech. I just stumbled upon this and thought, what the heck, for $50 I'll try it and if it doesn't work I'll return it. But it works!!!

DVD schizo color
This could be a symptom of a board error, but before you get too close to the bin, check the cable connections. If you are using scart leads, they can sometimes come adrift at one end or other through thermal expansion and contraction. Make sure they are secured fully.
You could also try changing the connection point on the TV if you have a spare, just to prove the input channel is OK.

DVD won't play
Netflix doesn't know what they're talking about. I looked it up - your DVD player doesn't have an autoplay feature.
Can you try the DVD on another DVD player. Computers DVD drives generally read them differently - and decode them differently, than a regular DVD player. Also, if your DVD drive is a writable drive, it will have a stronger laser than your DVD player.
I think it's likely the disk is damaged, slightly. If you cleaned your DVD's laser, it might be able to read it well enough to play - or it might not. I started having problems like this with a few of my own DVDs before my DVD player's laser went out. Basically it's a combination of laser quality and disc quality.
If it remains just this one disk, I'd suggest leaving it alone. But if you start running into this problem on other disks as well, you'll probably want to have the laser replaced in your DVD player.

Wrong region
i used this same procedure^on a different model.
The number is entered via remote control pointing to the unit.
after entering the right code, there should be a secret menu that will appear when you press setup , mine appeared as preference. On this menu, you can find the region.
You can fiddle around, you cannot destroy the unit.
The info is here:

maybe you can read what the other people have done.

For a replacement remote for your model, click on the blue link www.remotes.com and you will find one there. The original remote is no longer manufactured, but they offer a replacement that is as close as possible to original. The price is $39.95. If you want exact, I'd go this route. If you want something not as pricey, you can always opt for a universal remote and you can purchase those anywhere. Hope this answered your question. Please take a few seconds to rate how helpful this post was for you. Thanks and good luck.
