First unplug the unit from the outlet for 1hr.
Before you plug it in, press and hold the power button key at the front panel for 1 minute to drain the boards from voltages and make it reset itself.
Plug back in the unit and then try if the symptoms still persist to assist you further.

There is an email link. You don't say WHY you want a firmware update, but firmware in not supplied for televisions according to our Fixya television expert Larry. Firmware updating is fraught with danger and should not be undertaken lightly even when it is available. These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. No, you just told the television to format the USB into its own formatting format. It doesn't back it up for you.
