The first thing that I would do is to reset the router to restore its internet if only for a few minutes. Then follow the link to get the latest firmware for that router. The short and shinny setup

• With your modem plugged in and running.
• Plug in the Ethernet cable that came with the router into the Ethernet port on the modem and the other end into the port label "WAN or Uplink"

I to just upgraded to the Netgear N600 router.
