Turn your notebook off.
Turn your notebook on, and immediately start pressing the F8 key, once or twice per second,
until you see the Windows "start-up" menu (white text over a black background).
Choose the "start in VGA (low-resolution") mode" (or some wording similar to that).
You computer will start-up in '800-by-600-by-256-colours' mode, which should work.
Adjust the screen-resolution, and the number of colours to "optimal" values.

KDS Valiant No Video at desktop (WinXP Pro)
there might be a problem with the VGA driver. while booting, repeatedly press F8 until you get the boot options (black screen with white text) with your arrow keys, you select "boot in VGA mode"
then you can easily reinstall the video driver.

Space bar does not work
Hello, Thomas.
I'd suggest flipping your notebook on its side and then over, lift/pull the space bar slightly with a flat screwdriver or other thin, flat object. First shake, then spray compressed air in the area.
Hopefully, something is lodged (like a paper clip or other small object) and will be removed.
If not, the space bar cannot be replaced, unlike other keys. So, you would need to replace your keyboard.
Hope this helps.
Hope this helps.

Try it with only the battery.
Try it with only the power cord without the battery.
If neither of these work, you most likely have a bad motherboard.

How to disable the temperature sensor.
Hi,
Are you aware of any power management settings in the bios which would be shutting the system down?
How long does it run before it shuts down?
Also check in the os for power management settings.
The power board indeed needs to be in place for the machine to operate.
Good luck.

Cannot Boot
Removing the cmos battery isn't always enough to reset the bios you may need to find the 'JBAT1' terminal on the mobo and put jumper across pins 2-3 then back to 1-2.
But it may be a faulty mobo where the charger connects to the board.
