Displays protect on the screen
Hi,
It would help to have more details like the model of the system, however, a couple of probable reasons are listed below...
Protection kicks in when: -
1. Your speaker wires are shorting
2. Component failure due to which the output transistor is going to throw more volts than your speaker can handle.
Disconnect speaker wires, antenna wires and aux cable if any and check if the issues is resolved (power the system only with the power cord). If not, you will have to check multiple components, there could be a fusible resistor that is failed due to the failure of the output transistors/IC. If you are not familiar with electronics, get it serviced.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Lincoln

No cd error
Most of these "errors" are caused by dirt on the lens of the player. You can sometimes get them to work with a CD lens cleaning CD. But sometimes you have to go inside and do it manually with some CD lens cleaning fluid.

Protect comes on why
Hello Protection display will come over this type of set, when it is overloaded or system confused condition. Just unplug the device from AC mains socket and replug it after 4 to 5 minutes, and see whether it shows any protect display. If it shows it again, just disconnect the output loads, ie, connected speakers, and check. Again it displays 'protect', the internal circuit, especially the output amplifier circuits has the trouble, and the system need service. if it does not show protect display, after disconnecting the speakers from it, check the speakers or its connecting wires for damage. OK.
