My camcorder won't record.

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Why is card protected

There is a small slider on the side of the card to enable write protection - you have probably inadvertently slid this to the "write protect" position. It should be in the position shown in the pic to allow writes.2_29_2012_10_50_00_am.gif

Trying to record from tv cable

Hi.

Ensure that the cable is running from AV-Out (not in) on TV to AV-In on camcorder, or the whole thing will not work.

If that is not the problem, try the following:

  1. Turn off TV and camcorder.
  2. Disconnect TV power cord.
  3. Remove and put back camcorder battery.
  4. Start the camcorder.
  5. Connect AV Out on TV to AV in on camera. Some TV does not have AV out.
  6. Connect TV power cord and restart TV with the camcorder attached.
  7. Check if camcorder LCD display is showing the picture.

If that does not work, try switching the camcorder settings between QVGA and VGA, test a different cable, and if possible, test the output from a DVD or a game console.

Regards.
