No setup screen/picture do ineed a digital converter? I think my tv is analog

Your DVD1041 player, does not have a digital output. It is analog. If your TV has a composite entry, or even an s-video entry, you can buy a cable. When your TV has a scart entry you also can get a cable, but you need a plug from tulip to scart. And 3 tulip - tulip cables. Or a cable with one end scary and other end tulip plugs. Best with a in / out switch on the scart plug. 134da20e-5669-484c-bf7c-10e0fdc9aec4.png 8335645a-be80-4d5c-bc90-de6ac9c1110f.png

Remote won't work but can manually operate

you do the camera tricks just to ensure if the infra red sensor of the remote is working. get a digital camera turn it on,then get the remote controller. press any button at the remote controller pointing to the digital camera, if you see a light at the display of the camera then the infra red sensor is good but if no light either the sensor is worn out or the circuit was defective.

Won't read d d keeps saying bad disk

Hello, welcome to Fixya! Was this player playing previously? And how long have you been using this player? I suspect the lens of the player. Once the lens of the player becomes weak, it won't play discs any longer. The first thing my mind goes to, is the lens. The lens id responsible for reading/loading data on discs. So if the lens is unable to read the disc, there is no way the player is going to play the disc.To confirm if actually its a laser problem, insert an Audio CD into the player and see if will play. If it plays, then obviously, your laser (lens) is weak. But if it doesn't play Audio CD, then it might still be the laser (lens) or probably, a mechanism problem.Get a lens cleaner, use it to clean the lens. If that doesn't solve the problem, get a screw driver, open the player's cover so that you can gain access to the lens, use a cotton board to clean the surface of the lens. This should clean dust or dirt that might be on the lens.If non of the above solves the problem, then know that you need to replace the laser to a brand new one.To replace the lens, remove the bad laser, use it as a sample to get exactly the same type and do the replacement. Note that replacing a laser (lens) needs a professional touch, so if you cannot replace the laser, get it to a repairman to fix it for you.Once this us done, your player will play all DVD discs again.Good luck.

How do you hook up the DVD player when you have

Without having the model# of the TV or what connections are available I cannot go into details, BUT
A DVD player will need both Video and Audio connections connected to your TV. Depending on what connections are available on the back of your TV you have a few options
  • Composite Video (Yellow RCA connector)
  • SVideo (round 4 pin connector)
  • Component Video (Red/Blue/Green 3 RCA Connectors)
  • HDMI (flat rectangular digital connector)

Take a look on the back of your TV and see what types of these are available (or provide me your Model#)
HDMI will give you these highest quality signal....Composite Video the lowest

With all of the connections mentioned (except HDMI, HDMI has audio signal built in) you will ALSO need to connect the audio connection from the DVD to the TV as well (red/white RCA connectors)

I hope this helps,
Magoo

My player doesn't turn on what do I do?

Here are some DIY steps that may help you fixing the problem.

1.Check the power cord - check the cord it might be opened (no continuity). This is due to frequent bending, pulling.

2.Check the internal fuse - sometimes the fuse fail because of the power surge, replacing with new one cure the problem. However if the fuse blew again then this is an indication that you have a shorted parts on the power supply. If no reaction and still the unit didn't power up then you have an open parts on the power supply.

3.If the fuse is intact then you have a faulty in the power supply or on the load.

The next steps should be done by an expert or qualified technician because isolating the problem on the regulator section is technical and fatal.

But first check if the unit is under warranty then avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for you for free or a little charge only.

Have a nice day!

Thanks for using fixya.

Curtis TV, Mod#LCD2443A: Picture died, Sound is OK. Which part needs replacement - Mother-board or sub-components? Is it a big job, or simple plug-in swap? Any cautionary info? Thanks. Dave

What way you think, working with an LCD TV is skilled work indeed. Here, as sound is OK, there should be something wrong with its picture circuit of the main board. You should have skill in working with main board of an LCD TV. If you haven't it will be best to contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the sites linked here. https://elektrotricks.blogspot.com/ https://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Faults & possible causes to LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault. Search the site by type in the Brand Name of your set, in its search bar at the right side column, and press enter. See it in by Webview with mobile or by desktop. Mobile View has no search box. Screen-shots to defective LCD panels are given. You can see and compare to that to your TVs', and can make sure about the fault to an extent. {Always respect voltages. While some may not be dangerous in themselves, they can cause unexpected reactions that are best avoided. Before reaching into a powered TV set, it is best to test the high voltage insulation. It is easy to do, and is a good service precaution.}

Curtis mathes tv model# v37ncgi blinking red light do to have a diaogram of where capulators are located?

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ https://homenol.blogspot.com/ https://elektrotricks.blogspot.com/ Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your set, in its search box on the right column. View it on a desktop or in web View. Mobile view has no search box...

No sound on my 32" Curtis LCD3227A. I don't have remote and volume button on side of the TV isn't working as well. How do I get sound?

You have two choices to make. One is to get the TV repaired. The second would be to get and outboard tuner box, and feed the picture to the TV, and the audio to a stereo, or other audio amplifier. Those tuner boxes are very cheap compared to getting a repair person to fix the audio problem.
