your remote charges in a base, is the tv very old or new, if its under warranty check where you bought it, if its not, see if you can replace the batteries in the remote, they will get old and malfunction, they are probably small batteries like go in a heraring aid or computer, if there are several, one can go bad causing the others to go bad, clean the terminals on the pad and remote, use a pencil eraser, to clean them, sometimes they spill coke or just your hand can contaminate the conections.Matt

Logitech Harmony 880 remote control repair for
Hi. Unfortunately Logitech does not provide repair service for any
products, so unless you are good at electronics and soldering this might
not be an easy thing to fix. When my old Harmony 550 has button issues,
I called Logitech about it and they gave me 50% off to upgrade the
remote. This could be a good option for you.

My volume up on the
If the buttons used to work then yeah it sounds like a hardware issue. You can go ahead and take the remote apart, but I don't think you will be able to fix it, unless you are good at soldering. Cleaning the contacts alone won't help. This same thing happened to the most used buttons on my Harmony One, and I just assigned the commands to the screen, so I could continue using the remote without those buttons.
If you want to try assigning the buttons to the screen, the steps in this article by Logitech will help:

I hope this helps.
I bought a new battery
Hi, this is a common issue with the Harmony 800 series. What I do, is use an elastic band to keep the remote firmly in place on the charger, so that it does not lose contact.
Hope it helps.

Any known fixes for Logitech Harmony 880 universal
As an 880 owner myself, I think this is a common problem and documented out there on the internet.
This has happened to me a lot. (Okay, it's actually stopped now as the charged remote keeps shutting down and going into test mode.) But, back to your battery issue - I believe that the charging pins in the dock don't properly contact the equivalent pins on the back of the remote.
Try cleaning them with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol, then press down. You should hear one beep only - if you hear a beep followed by another beep, the unit has made contact then lost it.
Good luck! I think this really is a design flaw.
The volume control will no longer increase volume
this is common,
It may well work for most functions then let you down an one like volume!
You should have at least three (but it should be more like 6) different codes to try and one should work.
If your remote has a learning function and you have an original remote to hand, some have the ability to learn the function by direct lt beaming the remote command into the harmony itself.
