Logitech Harmony 880 LCD Remote Control - Page 7 Questions & Answers
How do I get out of the
the only thing I can suggest that has seemed to work is to take the batteries out. Good luck
Sound adjustment doesn't work to get louder, only softer
take it apart.on the back of the push buttons there is a graphite coating.sometimes oil gets on it and it won't work properly.clean the pc board gold contact areas and the back of the carbon buttons.if the carbon is worn off,cut a small piece of foil 1/8 inch in diameter, and glue it to the back of the button. that will make contact with the pc board foil to make it work.
Need to reconfig my Harmony 880 remote.
You will need to install the Harmony software on your computer. link here:

Once installed you will need to set up an account. When done the user interface is pretty simple. Just follow instructions to choose ALL your components and the activities you want then "update" the remote. You will need the usb cable that came with your remote to connect and update the remote. If the installer did not provide them you will need to contact them to get it.It was part of your new remote packaging. Also cable is available on line pretty cheap. I would suggest not using these installers again. This should have been explained to you.
If any problems call the logitech help line, they are very good at explainning in detail what you need to do.
Good Luck!
My 880 only works from about 3 feet away but used
you need to return it.
one of the IR led only works.
I had that, had to return (RMA) the unit.
you can check with some camcorders to see how bright the LED is (the camcorders often can 'see' the IR led like a white light).
i.e. either the power circuit for the IR LEDs is failing or the IR LED themselves are dead.
there is nothign you can fix on your own. CAll the support and get a replacement unit.
or return the remote to a store if you just bought it.
Remote needs ABSOLUTE DIRECT Line of sight
If the battery was out for that long, it's likely that the remote lost its programming. Did you try reattaching it to the website after the battery had recharged, so that the programming could be restored?
Logitech 880 remote will not power on
Sometimes when the battery is placed in the device, users forget to remove the tape that protects the leads and prevents the battery from discharging during shipping or during the time the device is on the shelf waiting to be sold.
Make sure the battery contacts are actually making contact with the space inside the remote.
Programming Harmony 880 Remote to Mute with CC on Sony Bravia KDL-40W4100
Do you use a Home Theater receiver along with your televison? Are other components, such as a DVD player, VCR, Blu-ray player, etc. connected?
If so, it's possible that the Mute function on your remote is muting the sound from your receiver, and not the TV itself.
If that's the case, you'll need to look at the details of the "default" buttons for your activities, and see whether the Mute function is associated with your TV or your receiver. If it's set for the receiver, you need to change it to be associated with the TV.
Harmony 880 will not turn any components on
First, check your battery indicator (make sure it's fully charged). Second, dock your remote with the USB cable and reprogram the remote. It's possible you disconnected before the programming was properly transmitted to your remote. Finally, if things don't work, use the HELP button on the remote. It should talk you through a procedure to fix your problem.

You need to be more specific about your problem. Have you already programmed your Harmony Remote on the internet? Does it control all other functions (such as changing channels) on your TV?
Do you have any other components connected (such as a Home Theater Receiver) that might be a source of sound?
Please post more details, and I may be able to help.
Should be controllng one box. is controlling 2 boxes
Unfortunately, there is no solution for this issue. The remote control sends out an infrared signal, which can be picked up as far as 40' away from the device. And to make things worse, the signal will reflect off any surface such as glass, mirrors, or even brightly painted walls.
The only way to solve the problem is to block the path of the beam to the other room. This may require closing a door or drawing heavy drapes closed.
Same thing here...won't charge
I have found that charging is sometimes a problem when the Remote doesn't make good contact with the contacts in the charging base.
I've tried several of these steps. One or more should work for you.
1) Ensure the contacts are clean on both the remote control and the cradle. I generally rub the eraser on a pencil against the contacts to remove any surface oils/greases/dirt. When you do this on the cradle, make sure you blow away any eraser dust, so it doesn't clog the recesses where the contacts are.
2) Sometimes, you will find the spring-loaded contacts on the base have been recessed to far down. You might want to GENTLY try lifting the contacts a bit (be careful not to break them off).
3) If the cradle or remote has any warping, contact may not be made. If this is the case, applying pressure to the remote (for example, placing a heavy coaster on the remote while it's on the charge base) should help hold the contacts together. If you do this, make sure the weight is placed nearer to the top of the remote (nearer the screen end), as that's where the contacts are.
Good luck.
