Disconnect the board if you have a real working remote, set will work via the remote without that board---remote sensor is behind screen and above the board.

Thats usually caused by the STK730-130 Convergence IC. You can get the replacement IC at www.tvrepairworld.com they will also assist you with how to replace it.

You need to replace the infrate remote sensor on the tv.(receiver problem)

Resolder the Flyback transformer pins and replace the fuse again.

If your set is rear projection set you have a bad flyback transfromer or high voltage trippler is bad .

Replace (2) STK392-150s these are your convergence ics.

You are going to have to check all of the small tact switches behind the push buttons in the front of the TV set. In the past, someone may have cleaned the picture tube and the liquid dripped down onto the switches and corroded them, or one is stuck closed or the remote sensor is bad. The best way to test this would be to replace the entire switch panel in the front of the TV set. Good Luck

The tv was probably on its way of failling as you put on the extra surge as plugging in a set is more of a current draw as the switching supply starts as does the sweep suppys for a split sec. Then goes into an idle state and that means its still running but waiting for power on command from the micro to start up the rest of the set. Now to your problem? HHHMMM could be the switching regulator as If my memory is correct there should be a regulator kit for a bad power supply. The only way to tell is knowing how to open set and trouble shooting the power supply by unsoldering the regulator to see if its shorted . If its not then the power supplys probably but not always good. Then i would disconnect the horizontal output to see if that was shorted and go from there. Good Luck

Your problem could be the cable: A. A weak signal coming from the cable company B. A bad cable or connector within the house. For the above, call the cable company and ask them to check the signal levels on your block. And, remove the plate where the cable comes out of the wall and look for shorted or bad wiring that may cause a weak signal. Also, if you have another set in the house, connect it to the same cable outlet to see if it has similar audio blackouts. Your problem could be the tv set itself, as well. C. Go into the on-screen-display and make sure you are on stereo audio and NOT SAP. SAP settings are not to be used unless you are using the second language or audio program feature. D. The sound detector inside the set could be defective. Which would require service. So, the first thing to do is to determine exactly where the fault lies; inside the set or outside the set. Then attack the problem at hand. If the set is defective internally, I think you will need a tv tech who can diagnose the problem; it must be tested and measured to find out the exact part (this set has over 3,000 compnent parts inside).
