Did you replace the STK convergence IC's yet? If not, thats your trouble, or you have a plug in the wrong place. i doubt if the yolk is bad, as that would most likly blow out the horizontal output transistor and the set would be dead. Good Luck, Please do not forget to rate this thread.

Vertical output circuit is no good if the lines go from right to left. If the lines were vertical then the horizontal output is to blame. Continue shopping

Sounds like there is a hi voltage problem. Those 3 tubes are the most expensive parts to replace if you can find them. I. You can get an estimate for the repairs, but most likely they will approach the cost of a new flat screen smart TV.

Just follow the cable hook up against the hookup on your tv. The antenna should be hooked up to an output labeled cable in.

If you are not using cable or Sat. TV, you need a DIGITAL outdoor antenna, preferably outdoors for better reception. Forget the garbage indoor window or set top systems as they will not pull in a good signal, unless you are near the TV Stations transmitters. Cosco or WalMart has TV Outdoor systems.

If you cannot adjust this in your video menu then you will need to get what is called a scan converter. Your tv is most likely unable to process HD signal properly. A scan converter will take the HD signal and convert it to what you tv can display.

A older but trouble free model in most cases.I gather you get no menu or any light on the screen and have tried tuner and at least one rear input.Fist thing just to look for is with rear cover removed do the three round black lens light up at all?The set could have a number of issues possible if they do not, No high voltage, no Filament voltage to the tubes etc.Let me know as much as possible including your skill level with TV sets.

I know a very common problem with this set (which rarely has convergence problems).Look closely where model number is on back and I suspect you will find in tiny print this is a PTK195 chassis.If so there is a board above the main boards (3 inch wide and about 9 inches long) that has only a few plugs and 4 screws holding it in.There are on that board if it is there about 10 black diodes---two side by side are much larger than the others. What happens and can be checked with board out is one of the two larger ones is shorted-----there are a few other parts but 95% of the time one of the large diodes is bad-----1000 prv (peak reverse volts at 3 amp and fast switching) See attached photo of typical diode with band at one end(polarity of band end is positve).Let me know if questions.

A number of possible answers---I need to know two things= on back of set aside from model number is there a chassis number like PTK 195 etc? Is power light green and going off or remains on?

Ur tv have convergence problems,before ur convengence ICS totally went dead.U must have tools like soldering iron,solders,solder witch,and know how to solders to fix this problems ur self.Must replaced 2 convergence ICS,and some or all it resistors.Tries websites like Tv repair world.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a convergence kit to repair it ur self.The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.
