Well, first try replacing the lamp especially if you can't even see a thing and it is totally a black screen. If you can see a image, even barely, then it is a possibly failure in the High Voltage or an video failure. You can order a new lamp through RCA or through a local shop or various online sites. Let me know how replacing it turns out. Make sure you reconnect everything.

No high voltage to the Three picture tube guns. The high voltage splitter could be defective. You have audio but no video I presume.

Clicking sound!

The TV is on protect mode. The clicking sound is the protection switch that keep turning the TV off to prevent further damage, this happens when a fault had been detected.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected.

If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

No audio...only static

This is caused by a corrupted signal being sent out by one of the stations you are watching. There is definitely NO PERMANENT SOLUTION to this problem. Just keep unplugging the TV.

This part is called the flyback transformer and is part # 239111 at a cost of $68.99 from tritronicsinc.com. You can replace the transformer. It sounds like it developed a short internally. There may be other parts that were effected as well. If you are not comfortable working inside hte set, expect a service call to run about $100 for parts plus hte local labor rate.

RCA 52 rear projector tv makes chirpping noise wont turn on

You have a bad high voltage transformer. It is the white square device about 3inch square with large red wire coming out. Must be replaced with RCA original NO GENERIC. Also the horizontal output transistor must be checked to see if it is good. Recommend honest qualified tv repairman

RCA 60" Rear Projection TV

this would be the convergence IC 's that need replacing
if you are going to have a tech come out to do the repair it will cost between 3 or 4 hundered dollars
if you are going to do the repair yourself ( meaning that you can solder and indentify the convergence chips and test the resitors on it) then it will cost about $40 or so

We have a Proscan 50" Projection TV. A T.V. repairman told us it was the HV (Horizontal Vertical) Splitter causing this problem and tried to find the part for us. The part for our TV was too hard to find though and we ended up not having ours fixed. Our T.V. is 8 years old though, and Proscan is discontinued. Maybe you'll have better luck finding an H.V. Splitter for your TV. Of course, you'd need a professional to install it for you. Good luck.

Projection tv

At the rear of unit remove cover and right near the center above the main chassis is a small pcb with a aluminum heat sink and an IC attached to it, usually a STK-730-150, replace it. One screw holds the board in, is easily removed for chip replacement.
