This is a older model; Check on the label on the back where the model number is------somewhere there should be a chassis number like PTK195.
It sounds like a convergence problem and these sets rarely have them.
If it is a PTK195 there is (with back removed and set unplugged) a small circuit board suspended above the main boards to the right as you look from the back.
This is (if it is there) the power supply for convergence and most of the time one of two diodes is shorted--------easy to get that board out and I can pinpoint the two diodes IF THIS IS A 195 CHASSIS.

I would recommend getting a quote from your local repairman and then deciding if it is worth the cost.
