Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
House power failure. Why doesn't TV restart?
Also, make sure its not on a gfci circuit. Even if a gfci is after the TV, like outside on a deck, a power surge may have damaged it. But that would most likely mean nothing in the circuit would work.
Is there a reset button on rca p52939
No there is no reset button . you would unplug the set for 5 min's and this will allow a reset . . with the symptoms you give id say you have a shut down issue . the set has detected a error and is putting it into a shut down sequence to protect it self from major damage .

There is a small circuit board on the right hand side when you take the back off. This is the convergence power supply. If you know someone who can solder and desolder components they can change the chip and it should solve the problem. This is a STK ic chip mounted on a metal heatsink. If you have to call a repairman to do this a reasonable price would be 250 depending on the price of in-home visit. Fairly simple repair on this model. Good Luck, Russmann.
I have a rca p52939 that won't turn on.
Failure of the HV splitter was a very common problem when I was doing these big screens on the road. The set won't come on if the splitter shorts. We used to test if that was the cause by pulling the HV input lead out of the splitter (leaving it still inside the plastic cup so it wouldn't arc anywhere) and turning the set on. Most often the set would fire right up (without picture of course).
I believe the RCA part number for the splitter is 205064, and it's available from a number of sources. I'm not home right now so I can't check. If I have the number wrong I'll post a follow-up comment.
I can't get my tv
there should be an input button on the remote and tv that should fix this

Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.
The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded over.

The image gets bowed when the S-correction circuit attached to the high tension module has failed.
If the entire tv has shut down then the high tension module (more precisely its power transistor) has also been damaged and will have to be replaced.
This is a very delicate fix that only a certified repairman can do. Unplug the tv from the wall to limit the damage and call one - it will cost you around $250 to fix it.
Blue, red and green are
Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.
This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.
