RCA D56W20 56" Rear Projection Television Questions & Answers
Soundls like theres a mouse in the tv when you turn it on
A high pitched squeek or such is a short in the deflection circuit--where the high voltage for this set is developed, someone with a schematic and know how would have to first look in that area around the high voltage transformer, if not able to do that consider having the set looked at by a tech.
Water in the rear projection bowl
thats normal but its not actually water. Its a clear CRT coolant (liquis) that prevents the CRts from heating up and cracking the CRT ( Picture tube)
No Picture, screen went black
Model indicated here is prone to bad solder connections at high voltage transformer and all around it under that part.

Those type of tv sets get unusually hot at times. Could be a heat issue. Power flow at night is the best. If it's still turning off then, it must be a dust or heat issue.
What kind of heat issue
Sounds like it's possibly your convergence IC's overheating. On some projection tv's, after time, the solder joints on the IC's weaken from the heat and cause them to turn off the tv for it's own protection.
I have an RCA D56W20
Hi,
Be advised that without diagnosing the TV, it would be tough to provide legitimate 2nd opinion. However, i would be able to add few inputs. The correct repair of this TV would likely (without testing) require
that the Green tube be replaced. When this was done we would also
replace the Red and Blue tubes especially on a TV more than 5 or 6 years old.
This was because a new tube would not be easy to balance with the
other tubes and pushing the other tubes would likely lead to their
failure in the near future.
If the tubes were available, the repair cost would not make it
economically feasible. This type of repair would run $800.00 to
$1,200.00 a few years ago. The price of the tubes were expensive and it
was labor intensive requiring a good deal of recalibration.
I wish i could have a better solution. You could unplug the TV for few hours, say 2-3 hours and see, if that resets the problem, unless buying a new TV would be on the cards.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Have you tried a degausser ,Generally CRT's get full of static and build up Guass, and generally get magnetized . A de-guasser will cure this. if this does not work , get back to me .K
hope this helps.
Loud squealing noise from speakers
You have a bad Coil on the deflection Board LL037. You can first resolder coil and then using a glue gun glue the coil on top ,If this does not fix the problem then replace coil.
Deflection board is the bottom left hand side board, coil will be on the right hand side of the FBT flyback transfomer.
