Most likely either a problem in the main power supply or the deflection circuit in the set---in plain words if the power supply is not for whatever reason coming on, the set will not come on.Also if a picture tube type set if the circuits downstream for the high voltage for brightness (which in most cases also provides voltage for sound) do not work set will not come on.About the only easy possible reason is a cracked solder connection somewhere or a part bad. Most of these small combo units are not made by the company whose name is on them and sadly are usually not repaired as considered by some a throwaway item.

Possible that the disc is warped and so is not loading, put in another disc and if there is a similar fault then the loading mechanism is also to be checked.

In most cases when the CD does not play it is possible that the optical head is a suspect. Sometimes it might pick up ordinary audio CD but will not play other formats. This indicates that the optical head is weak and so there is no detection or scanning of the CD . If the optical is working the tracks will be read immediately but with no scanning the laser head can be defective.
Sometimes certain cleaner disks will not be tracked to run for cleaning as it will not be read and so will reject. Hence it is ideal to manually clean the laser head eye using a cleaning swap /cotton bud with gentle pressure on the lens eye.
If there is no result then watch if the CD spins or tries to spin. If so the board seems to work unless a test is taken on the main board but the possibility of a defective optical head can be the suspected fault.
If any of the above seems otherwise we must recheck with possibilities of a malfunction of the main processor board

HelloThe power supply section of your TV should be troubleshooted. Open the set, and check the fuse. There is a protection fuse fitted on the power supply section, a glass cartridge type, which can be detached from its holder. Check it for damage. You can check it with the help of a multimeter. if found opend, never put an other fuse in place. Check for the reason for present fuse to blow up. There will be some reason, without any reason, a protection fuse won't blow up. If you replace the fuse with an other one, without detecting and rectifying the reason for the blow up of fuse, it may make things more worse than preset. Usually, power switching section will have the trouble. You must have sound knoledge in electronics to follow the work.If you have knowledge and all tools to repair, inform me by Fixya comment box. I'm ready to assist you to repair this set. OK.

Please try using a univerrsal remote as the AV is switched only externally by this way. The other option is to short the AV switching transistor from the output of the processor but for this you must identify the pin and do it with care not to tamper the circuit. This can make the AV to be ON and so help you with the cam.

Hello
There are two possibilities for this fault. The first one is the spinning problem of disc inside it. If loaded disc does not spins, the mechanism will eject it. The reason for this is damaged sled motor. Sled motor is one which spins the disc inside at high speed. It can be replaced. The second reason is of Laser Pickup Unit itsef. If it does not emit laser beam, the main system circuit will recogonise as there is no disc in the tray, and play function is energised, and will eject the tray out. Check for the first one. This is most comon fault with DVD players. OK.

Its sounds to me like your laser in the DVD needs cleaning or the disk you are trying to play is damaged. First you should buy a lens cleaner for your DVD. They are quite cheap.! Then clean the DVD lens.
Try another Pre recorded DVD Film. If this does not work , then maybe your Laser lens is not working. This then is a job for a repair person.
Hope this helps.
