The TV will search for active channels and add them itself. Use the remote to select the on screen menu and go to the Channel Setup mode. Then just push the up arrow and it will add the channels for you automatically.

There is a possibility that this set has another "mode' where you can select "hotel" or "standard" if it's there make sure you set that to standard the "hotel" mode disables some of the features like the ability to set the channels. I can't find this owners manual on line for free (RCA usually won't provide them) I can't be more specific. I doubt that you got a copy of the owners manual when you got the TV.

You have a bad flybacktransformer. This is what is causing the popping!

Coil L14401 will need to be removed and the ends scraped clean. Clean the area where this coil was, reinsert and resolder. This coil is near your horizontal output transistor! Find a hobbiest or TV tech to do this. Good Luck and thanks for asking!

Coil L14401 is not making a good ground. Remove him carefully, scrape the ends clean and the board where he was removed. Now reinsert and resolder this little guy,and Bingo you have your TV back. This is a common problem with your TV! Thanks for asking!

You will have to find an RCA universal remote. Please search your local discount store and find an RCA remote with input. This is what you'll have to do...sorry!

Not sure what you are asking. Are you saying you have audio and no video? If this is the case I have a solution. If you pull the board out safely, do so. Find a red coil, location L14401 and remove this. Scrape the legs of the coil to remove any oxydation. Remember just the two legs, scrape carefully. Now on the board find a 100 ohm resistor location R14402 and scrape a path on the board between R14402 and L14401, this will give you a good ground connection. Fill with solder as you replace the coil's first leg. On the other end of the coil solder the second leg to the next solder spot..there is no component there, just a solder spot, be sure the second leg can reach this and solder. Video will return!

Hello, I have had my TV for 3-4 years and have dealt with this stupid guide popping up for the last 2 when I got curious to see if it was something I wanted to use. FINALLY I came across a solution - so far so good but tomorrow it could be back? I did not have the option field some suggested to use. So saw another suggestion for something else and so far so good. When going into the setup guide. Select the USA, place all 0's in the zip code area and NO for everything else.... no VCR no cable, etc.

I also was able to do this without the remote - IF you can get the menu to pop up you just have to use the numbers to select what you need. Found the remote and saw nothing different as far as menu options. Good luck.

I couldn't let well enough alone. I located my remote control and played around with the guide screen.... not sure if you can do this without the remote. - Anyway - when you are in the Guide Screen - toggle up to where it sorts, selects, etc. If you can go over more to the right on that menu bar - there is a options selection. Choose to "review" your options. There you can select OFF for the auto display. Hope you have your remote. Didn't try it without it.
