NEED REMOTE FOR RCA 34V434T

Google would be best here but almost any GE/RCA universal should work with no programming, it will not have all the functions of the original remote but will operate very basic things.Thompson sets are rca,ge, and parts can be hard to find. About the only OEM dealer I know who may be still selling them is Andrews Electronics in California who has a toll free number and a site on the internet.

RCA 32v550t. The parental control has been

Hello Most RCA and GE TV sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The code reset procedure is different depending on the model. Try each method until you find one that works

  1. Hold down MENU on the remote and VOLUME DOWN on the TV it's self at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked
  2. Hold down the 0 on the remote and the VOLUME DOWN buttons on the TV its self at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked
  3. Hold down the MENU button on the front of the TV and the TV button on the remote at the same time for at least 4 seconds
  4. Hold down GO BACK on the remote and MENU on the front of the TV at the same time for at least 4 seconds.
Depending on the model, one of the methods should unlock the V-chip. Now, if desired, you can change the settings on the V-chip by going to the MENU and going to PARENTAL CONTROLS, or on some sets, going to MENU and then going to TV SETUP, then to V-CHIP SET.

"32" rca tv about 3 years old was on & it

sounds like the sceen is dead, if you are receiving nothing on screen, then it sounds like either a component and/or screen is gone... however, check the tv input to make sure it wasnt acidentally switched to an input channel with nothing selected... if that does not work, call local tv repair or mfg customer service tech. if under warranty, have repaired or replaced. without physically seeing tv, it is hard to diagnose issue outside of information given. could be simple board replacement or could be screen.. but check input first, if a dvd player plays, then it could be just component or input on wrong selection

Tv is doing a wierd

Hello
Your Tv has a probelem either for its Line Output Transformer {LOT}, or its Horizontal Output Transistor, which drives the LOT. LOT is one which supplies voltages to the picture tube. There are three voltages goes to the picture tube, from this LOT. One is Extra High Tension, at about 32,000VDC [final anode voltage], and other one is at about 5000VDV [focus], and an other one is at about 600VDC [screen].
If LOT must work properly, tha above said trnasistor must work well. It is usual that this transistor goes leaky. This transistor can be located very near to the above said LOT, screwed directly to a metal heatsink. You just resolder it out and check for leak, with a multimeter. Its collector to Emitter leak is common. Anyway desolder it out from it [it is a three terminal package in black colour], and go for same type and number. Insist on same type and number, since it is a critical component. Never use susbstitutions in that place, even though they may work, it will effect the picture clarity.
After replacing the transistor, switch on the set for just 10 seconds or so, and unplug it from AC mains, and check its heating effect. It may be just warm, but not hot. If it heats up ubnormally, make sure that the LOT has damaged. Replace it too. Ok.

Check the button on the remote to see if it's stuck, as well as the button on the front of the TV. If it still has this problem, it's internal and needs to be serviced. Very very rare problem! Hope this helps.

My RCA 32V550TYX1 turns itself off and on

Hello, The power light may be flashing or if you are runing with a series light bulb it may be cycling on and off continuously. There may be a chirping or clicking sound from inside the set. (Note: using too small a series light bulb load during testing for the size of the TV may also result in this condition.)
If there is a low voltage regulator or separate switching supply, it could be cycling on and off if the horizontal output, flyback, or one of its secondary loads were defective.
Does this TV have a separate low voltage regulator and/or switching power supply or is it all part of the flyback circuit? For the following, I assume it is all in one (most common).
Some simple things to try first:
Verify that the main filter capacitor is doing its job. Excessive ripple on the rectified line voltage bus can cause various forms of shutdown behavior. An easy test is to jumper across the capacitor with one of at least equal voltage rating and similar capacitance (make connections with power off!).
Use a Variac, if possible, to bring up the input voltage slowly and see if the TV works at any point without shutting down. If it does, this could be an indication of X-ray protection circuit kicking in, though this will usually latch and keep the set shut off if excessive HV were detected.

Digital or Analog

This TV has an NTSC (analog) tuner. You'll need a digital to analog converter if you want to receive most OTA channels.

I hope this helps.
