Hi,
Press STOP button on dvd player for 5-6 seconds to turn off Progressive Scan mode as it is giving split picture/ double image in tv.
If above said method does not work, please check user manual of dvd about how to turn off P-Scan mode.

If the fan is making weird noises there is either something wrong with the bearing or it has ingested something.
Maybe you could look, listen closely and determine which it is. If it's foreign matter you may be able to extract or vacuum it out. If it's just bearing noise, you have to decide how bothersome it is and if a shop visit is justified. A clog is BAD because the fan is protecting the unit from high temperatures.

You cast your Mark I Eyeball on the speaker wires then buy something like it at Home Depot. Lamp cord will probably suffice and it's cheap. Buy a spool of it. Then you TURN THE UNIT OFF and carefully splice in the desired length of wire (*), one conductor at a time so you don't criss-cross anything. Make sure you leave NO conductors exposed in the joints.
* They make a number of solderless splicing devices. Ask the guys at HD when you buy the wire.

if you hold the power button for more than 8 seconds it will lock the whole system. unplug it and see if that fixes it, if not press and hold the power button on the remote.

After having been given a total of six (6) different numbers to call for Tech. Support on the RCA RTD300 Home Theatre system, the final, valid number was 1-800-433-7316. Evidently, there has been a major shake-up with the tech. support for this product. The representative told me that there is a website which isn't up and running yet for parts etc. for this system. http://1800customersupport.com I've been attempting to locate a replacement remote for the system, with no luck so far. Hopefully, this will save someone from going through the aggravation that I've experienced in attempting to get some assistance from RCA.
