Hooked up PS3 to Samsung HP-R4252 HDTV and games

You will need to download the converter program

'DPM Mode' coming from your display means that it isn't happy with the resolution it's seeing coming from the input (your DVD) and so the display goes to sleep.
Presumably you have its resolution set at 1280 x 768 for the Blu-Ray DVDs? In which case you need to try setting the monitor resolution to 720 x 480 before watching the standard DVDs. That may work, at any rate. If not... well, I'm stumped... Source(s): http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthrea…

2 possible solutions. The first one is the most important.

First go to the system menu, on the left.
then scroll down to display settings.
choose the first option
if you are displaying though a hdmi adaptor, click on hdmi
then click automatic.
store settings.

This will change the display resolution of the PS3 to the same as the source.

The second way, and probably better one if it works for you, is to upscale the DVD.

To do this, go to the settings menu
scroll to the DVD settings menu
choose DVD upscaler.
try different settings to see what works best on your TV, but try normal first.

If this one works then change the display settings to display the maximum res of your TV all the time.
Check the resolution of your display and the player. Put them in order so that the signal doesn't go beyond the resolution of the display.

If this doesn't work, check out the link below. Source(s): http://www.cnet.com.au/tvs/0,239035250,3…

Clicking noise and TV will not switch on.

Hi my name is Roety,
I can help you with your issue ,
These are simple sets, but most likely you need the Ysus board and both Y buffers replaced.
If unplugging the connector to the Y from the power supply stops the clicking, then the 3 boards I mentioned need replacing.
Tech cost would be in the $800 range
Buy them yourself at encompass.com ,

I have a Samsung 42

You may have to change the DMD (Digital Micromirror Device). Also you may have to change the color wheel and lamp; the DMD will cost you around $200-$300. The color wheel and lamp will together cost you another $300.
This type of tv repair may be very expensive especially if you have to pay a technician to perform the repair for you.
It's at that point that you may decide to invest in a new unit.

The picture goes out after about 10m min in use

This fault suggests that you have a bad joint somewhere on the tv. If you feel competent to do so,remove the back and check all lead connections. If secured ok put power on and wait for fault to occur and when it does, listen for any arcing or strange buzzing noises coming from the power supply. If so, there may be a dry solder joint on the power supply. Also check for bulging capacitor tops with possible brown fluid discharge on the central power supply board..If this is present, replace the capacitors..Samsung plasma tvs are prone for this, and if ignored, eventually the tv will not come on at all and keep tripping on and off.

I have a Phillips LCD tv just coming up to 2 years

You probably have a bad plasma panel. Have a repair shop check it out though because it could also be one of the buffer boards.

My samsung 42

Hi my name is Eric,
I hope I can help you with your issue ,
The TV not starting properly you should hear the tone noise (bleep bleep) not a ticking noise or no sound.

These Samsung LCDs have problems with the power supply capacitors going bad, a servicer will charge between $200 and $450 to repair it replacing either the capacitors or the whole board.
here is a DIY (do it yourself) solution:
It could be just a few bad capacitors on the power supply, if you want to attempt the repair yourself you can do a visual of the power board caps will appear swollen on top.
We do not recommend do it yourself, but depending on your knowledge and technical ability you may be able to.
with the back removed you will usually see two circuit boards the upper one is the power supply, it has a few capacitors on it (cylindrical standing straight up soldered in mark on the sides with the positive/negative sides and MF and Volts values)
Samsung uses mostly 1000Mfd at 16Volts rating capacitors, they cost about $1 each (680mfd will also work fine)
usually I replace about four of them (or all the bulged on top ones) .
The power board and back unscrew with a medium philips screwdriver, if you do not know how to desolder and resolder then do not attempt this as you may damage the TV more than fix it.
Im am posting a photo of some swollen caps on a board so you know what they look like;

best of luck to you

I have a relay going bad on my samsung sp-r4232

Samsung part numbers start with BP this does not look like a samsung part number, you cant go by the listing on the relay itselt, look on the board and find a part location number, with relays it might be RY101,RY102 etc... Then use this site to help u further in obtaining the correct part#. www.partstore.com
Also Samsungs Parts Info phone number is 800-634-8276 or try their tech support number 866-797-8736
On the website Input you model number then click on list all parts for this model and look for the part location you found on the board. which is the power supply.

Vertical Line started on left side of HDTV, and now

This problem is down to the actual LCD or plasma screen, if this shows as the screen warms up and stays on then the screen will need to be replaced, you should go back to your retailer (not manufacturer) and report this problem, depending on the store and how long you have had the tv, the tv can be replaced for a like for like tv at store as this is not a cheap standard repair.

I have two thick black lines running vertically on the plasma

Hi,

It could be 1 of 4 things:
1. One of the ribbon cables has worked itself loose (Simple Fix)
2. One of the assembly boards maybe faulty
3. The driver board which feeds the panel maybe faulty
4. The panel is faulty

The driver board in the UK costs approx £70 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

All other parts are between £80-160 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

The panel will cost approx 50-75% of what the TV was worth when you bought it - "Repair versus Replacement"

Thanks

I started having problems with my tv, i theres

There are a couple of boards that can cause this symptom. Depending on which one it is, boards run anywhere from $100-$250 each. It will have to be taken to a repair shop to isolate which one is bad, if the board is available, or the panel itself can be bad. Figure on at least $300-$400 including shop charge. You might get lucky and it only be a loose connection, cost will mainly depend on the shop.
