Hi , have opened back cover, where are the fuses

Hi,

If you are referring for the power supply's fuse, it is located near where the power cord's directly connected. See on the picture below.

jdvillanueva_93.jpg

Ceramic fuse is the one installed on that board. It is white in color or sometimes a multicolored one.

Hope I helped you.

Have aplasma tv sound but no picture

Hi,

This kind of symptoms is an indication of faulty either the Y or X sustain board. High chance that the fault came from faulty Y-sustain board. If your unit is not under warranty/extended warranty period, open the back cover, check the continuity of the fuse on the Y-sustain board using the multimeter. If the fuse is open, replace it with a new, same current(ampere) ratings and try the unit. If the fuse blew again, you have to replaced this board with a new one.

Let me know the condition of the fuse to assist you further.

If you don't have necessary tools and test instrument and can't troubleshoot the unit yourself, I would advice you to seek for an assistant of a qualified TV Technician to isolate the faulty parts.
Also, check if your unit is under warranty period, avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free. Opening the back cover will void the warranty.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

How is plasma generated in plasma t.v.?

From Wikipedia:
"A plasma display panel (PDP) is a type of flat panel display common to large TV displays 30 inches (76 cm) or larger. They are called "plasma" displays because the technology utilizes small cells containing electrically charged ionized gases, or what are in essence chambers more commonly known as fluorescent lamps."

I turn tv on, all

I checked GSPN.Com servicer line for Samsung technicians. This television has a fan for cooling the plasma panel. Can you tell if the fan or fans are operating properly. If fans don't turn on this tv would certaily overheat. Fan sensors would cause television to shut down if the y are not operating. First thing I would check.

As above, the ribbon cable is likely at fault, though it is unlikely it's due to being seated incorrectly (if it is, you're incredibly lucky). The fault is probably a bad solder connection in one of the resistors attached to the back of the ribbon cable at the point where the line in the screen appears. The ribbon cables in question will run along the very bottom of the screen.

The fix is to re-solder the resistors on the cable. If the cables do not have integrated resistors, the problem is one of the ICs on the cable or components on the driver board the cable is attached to. Unfortunately, the ICs are sealed and cannot be repaired, and diagnosing component failure on a board is usually more trouble than simply replacing it outright. In the former case, replacement of the entire plasma screen unit is the only fix. In the latter, replacement of the driver board is required. Replacing the screen is usually cost-prohibitive. A used driver board may be findable through eBay.

WHAT IS THE COST OF 42 INCHES SAMSUNG NEW BUFFER

If you are talking about the Y upper and lower buffer boards you are looking at about $65.00 to $85.00. Google the part number and you will get several stores. I wouldn't buy from Ebay because usually they don't guarantee the parts. There are several stores on the net that have a return policy and their parts are guaranteed for 3 - 6 months. The upper board number P/N is BN96-02034A, the lower is BN96-02216A. I'm becoming an expert at this. I just changed out my upper and lower buffer boards and my Power Supply Board the picture looks beautiful for about 1hr. then the picture becomes pixelated I think I may have to change the fan because it's not working. Good luck. I hope it works for you.

I bought a power supply

replacing the power supply isnt too difficult. taking the back off is the most time consuming part. Once the back is off you will see the power board, just remember where the scres go and the earthing strap and unplug the connectors, if i remember right the plugs will only fit it there own connectors so no worries about connecting them incorrectly. i would take some pictures of the board in situ before you start so you have a refrence to look at when you pull it out and put the new one in

I hav a Samsung 50''

Hello

First of all, please replace or at least have checked out the Ymain and Yupper and Ylower boards. In many cases if one blows they all blow.

Changing the boards is not difficult if you know what you are doing. However I suppose a brain surgeon might say the same thing. If you are comfortable with repair electronics then no, its not difficult at all.

That will give you some pics and a place to start.

Best of luck

My screen after a few hours of use start to get

Hi,

This is one of the common problem with this unit.

Please tell me if the lines appear on all inputs ? DVD, TV, Video 1,etc
Are the lines showing in the TV menu ? (if it is in that area)
Sounds like a problem with the bottom row of buffer boards,
ribbon cable connectors or the panel itself.

This is an internal failure and needs repair / replacement of any of the 5 components / boards viz

1. Ymain - supplies the scan voltage to light the panel.
2. Buffer boards (upward to 5 in a set 3 on the bottom and 2 on the side)- Supply the data and connect the voltage to the correct pixels in the panel
3. Logic board - the brain it takes the video and turns it into the signal required to instuct the buffers which pixels to light to make the picture complete.
4. Power supply - self explaining
5. The X/Z sustain responsible to light the panel in black and clear the picture between each frame

You need to have electronics repair experience to repair this. Kindly take all the precautions as i could only guide you.You would need multimeter and might need to do soldering.

Let me know,so that we could proceed.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
