The GoodThe Vizio M3D0KD produces some of the deepest black levels and most accurate color of any LED TV this year, and does it for a bargain price. Its passive TV was brighter than many active sets and virtually crosstalk-free. The Smart TV suite has plenty of content and the remote has plenty of capabilities. Vizio includes four pairs of 3D glasses.

This is the reason why. The new LED strip you bought is faulty. Regrettably, we see this all the time with boards and other television components. The last guy I told this to got all upset :>(

So your television stops working properly and you think it must be easy to fix, because you can buy boards on eBay, and you can watch YouTube videos. So you make a decision, you buy a board and you fit it, but the television still doesn't work! This is a classic case of the 'let's try replacing this' method of television repair and illustrates why it is a bad idea. It doesn't work for a number of reasons. To correctly diagnose issues, you need to know every board, what is does and every component on the board. You need to know which part has failed, replace the component, or replace the board. The parts you purchased off eBay were probably out of scrapped sets and not tested. The part you put in was dead when you put it in, so you just moved on to another guess at what might be the cause and replace a board that is fine. And so it goes on, you change all the boards and it still doesn't work. Did you notice the large print that says 'No Refunds, NO Returns'. This is to stop you sending your old one back and saying it didn't work, but the unscrupulous use it as an excuse to get money for selling items that may not work! The course to be a television engineer is 2 years full time education, take it to someone that knows how to diagnose and fix. It is by far the cheapest option. The part that failed might be a 20 cents fuse diode hard soldered to a board. They will charge you $2 parts and an hours labour.

Let us know what exact model this is. It is possible that this is caused by a bad power board which then causes your backlight to turn off, but can also be a T-con or main board issue. Let us know if only your picture turns off or if you lose sound as well and if the picture comes back on. You do want to try to reset your TV. Unplug it and push and hold the power button for about 30sec-1min then plug it in while holding the power button depressed. If that does not help, remove the back of your set and post some good images of your boards with your question. That way we can see what you see and could try to assist you further.

Make sure the outlet your plugged into is good first. Plug something like a vacuum cleaner in and suck hard with it. If it works good at least the outlet is good. There might be a voltage switch if it's set to 240 volts switch it to 115 v. and see if it solves the problem. It's right next to where the cord plugs into the back of the set. Mine came set wrong but I checked it first before I plugged it in as I read the directions first.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

I've replaced everything in my television because it previously had a black screen with no lighting. Now it doesn't turn on at all and all I have is audio. What could be the cause ?
