I've always thought Packard Bell a good company, but £163/$163 is lot of money for a computer repair, unless the motherboard failed.

The trouble with Dell, I believe like Packard Bell, is that they use proprietary parts, which can only be replaced by them and usually expensive.

Next time go for a generic computer, the parts manufacturers are usually the same, but they're used in loads of different make computers making spares cheaper.
