Here is the link to the user manual; http://www.filterqueen.com/pdf/defender.pdf The red light indicates a filter needs replacing, see page 6 of the manual (page 9 of the pdf file) If filters have been replaced and the light still flashes, then the reset procedure (described on the same page) should work. If still flashing then there is a more serious, but probably fixable fault. Hope this helps - ask again if you need more info :)

What are you looking for? If is just for house current for average use go to any well known hardware or places like Lowes or Home Depot or Sears..ask for or look 14 gauge on the tag..if for higher amp use such as portable air conditioners and 15--3000 watt portable heaters ask or look for 12 gauge wire..that should handle all your needs..good luck...

Generally you can get away with a different brand that shares the component. Just take in the old one to compare when you purchase. They need to be the same size.

no with the red lite on it mean that you need to change your filter its a safety feature so you dont burn out your motor and also so you dont blow unpurified air through out your home

Filter Replacement Indicator:
Your Defender® is equipped with a Filter Replacement Indicator located on the front
panel. Anytime this red indicator flashes, it is recommended that you call your authorized
FILTERQUEEN® Distributor to order a replacement filter. Anytime this red indicator stops
flashing and remains solidly illuminated, it is recommended that you change your filter. To
receive full benefit from your Defender® and to extend your warranty, it is strongly
recommended that you follow the filter replacement schedule suggested above. Under higher
pollution levels, your filters will need to be replaced more frequently.
The Filter Replacement Indicator is operated by filter time in use and is controlled by an
onboard timer. After 11 months of time in use of your Medi-Filter® Cartridge, the Filter
Replacement Indicator will begin to flash. It will continue to flash until the you reach 12
months of time in use, at which time the Filter Replacement Indicator will stop flashing
and remain solidly illuminated.
After replacement of your Medi-Filter® Cartridge, you must reset the Filter
Replacement Indicator's timer. When the timer has been properly reset, the Filter
Replacement Indicator will turn off.
Resetting the Filter Replacement Indicator Timer:
After replacement of your Medi-Filter® Cartridge per the instructions found on page 7, the
Filter Replacement Indicator's timer can be reset by performing the following sequence of
steps:
1 Plug unit into outlet.
2 Press power On/Off switch to the On ("I") position.
3 Allow unit to start running at low speed.
4 PRESS and HOLD both the Up and Down arrow buttons until the Filter
Replacement Indicator starts to blink.
5 Release both the Up and Down arrow buttons.

wouldnt have thought their is a manual reset button at all because disconnecting the power would do the same thing .What this seems like is a fault in the circuitry caused by a made in china chip used the programming ,you will be better off throwing it away and buying a new machine which you will do in the end anyway as the control part is sealed in making in the factory

No It is a charcoal wrap like the ones used on military chemical warfare suits. it is unwashable once it has been completely dirtied up in the 6-8 month time span
