Picture is getting dark.
Try changing the lamp, some times as they age the electrodes in the arc lamp evaporate and depositing inside the arc tube, causing it to darken, if the lamp is clear there is a good change that the light tunnel is broken or has other problems with the light engine

nothing else is required except inserting it right which is not hard==lamp does not seem to be your problem, Other things will cause this issue as well, it is not always the lamp that is bad.One thing you might want to do is remove here the new lamp unit to make sure it went in clean and straight, With it removed look in the direction the lamp faces for the color wheel, look to see it is intact and not shattered, I attach a photo.I mention as this is also a common issue in this set, usually proceeded by a high pitched fan like sound or even when failing a grinding noise.
When I turn the television on, the red comes on,
If this tv is a Samsung HCM4215W with the symptom you described you are likely to have fluid leak on the board. Sounds like a classic fluid leak problem since the audio does come on and then going intermittent. If you find fluid from the tube(s) on the board then the set could not be worth fixing unless you can break up the fluid with degreaser spray. The fluid is conductive and will cause intermittent or shut down altogether the set. Look for the fluid as a clear substance. Also you may have a bad proscan board (module) Comes on with audio and no picture then on/off
REPLACE PRO SCAN MODULE BP95-00077A. Do a search online for part for availability. But look first for the fluid leak.
Light blinks there is sound but no picture
We have a Samsung DLTV that does this when the bulb needs to be replaced. We have to replace the bulb quite frequently. You can look up the bulb you need online using the model number of your TV. I hope this helps.
I have about five white spots on my screeen tv.
That is the first sign of the DLP chip failing ,the number of white dots will increase as time goes on.
The only solution is to have the DLP chip replaced, but it is an expensive part. You can call Samsung at 1-800-samsung to find the nearest service center.
Unable to adjust the blue
Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.
I have picture but no
Hi.
You need to use audio cables. Connect two red and white audio cables from the output on the HD box to the relative input at the back of TV (nr.4 in picture below). The best way to connect the HD box is by using component cables, that are the red-green and blue trio of cables, plus a white and red audio cables.
Here what you need:

Cables Unlimited - Video / audio cable Once you have the five cables, connect them to the output at the back of the Direct TV box, and then connect the other end of the cable to either group of connectors 6, or to one of the columns in connector 7. Do connection with box and TV power off. After re-applying power use the source-input selector on remote to select the source from Direct TV box.

I can't get the color
All projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video or dead set) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both.
Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out
Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. In some cases the TV will also not show any video. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.
This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.
Common Symptoms include....
- Screen looks 3D
- Colors don't line up
- One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
- Screen is bowed or warped.
- TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

The Samsung HCM4215 Rear Projection
First I need to clarify your tv. Your tv is not a DLP. It is a standard 3 CRT rear projection. So there is no Lamp/bulb to replace like you would find in a DLP.
As for your problem. I would suspect a convergence failure. I believe on this set, there is a small board in the back of the tv above all other boards with two STK chips on it. Access if from the back of the tv. You should be able to unplug this board and see if the tv comes on. If it comes on, the picture will be distorted and colors separated. if this happens, then you know you have a convergence failure.
If this is the case, you can either:
a) have a repair shop fix it
or
b) buy a new or used(most likely) board and replace it yourself and then re-align the tv.
or
c) Replace the STK chips on the board, any faulty resistors in the area and possibly a fuse or two.
You will need the service manual to help you with how to do the re-alignment once the chips are replaced.

The main reasons of your problem is the bulb which is
already came to its end. The unit will automatically shuts off when it sense a
bulb failure. But before you replace the bulb I would advice you to work first
on itspower supply. Look for open
fuse/fusible resistor and spot some bad solder joints. This will do the same symptoms
like what it showing now. If you don't have necessary tools
and test instruments, and can't do the job yourself, I would advice you to
look for a professional to
troubleshoot the problem. Don't attempt to work in the power supply if you
don't know the safety precaution of
handling it, there some stored electricity enough to hurt you with
a little mistake only.
The lamp is usually located at the side of the tv.

My TV timer light is on, however, it will not come
Check the capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back of the tv, locate the power supply, look at the tops of the capacitors, "small barrels", there is an X on the top. If the top is bulging up slightly, they are bad. There are usually 6 of them grouped together, replace all of them.
