Samsung HCM4215W 42" Rear Projection Television - Page 6 Questions & Answers
TV Turns Off Automatically While Watching
Stop trying to turn on the set. You are causing more damage. The hissing sound you are hearing is either a High Voltage Transformer on the SMPS (Switched Mode Power Supply) indicating a short somewhere in the set or some capicitors that have shorted out. Also there can be a CRT that is leaking cooling fluid onto the Main bd or the Power/Deflection bd or both bds. Have a trained Samsung tech troubleshoot the set.
Problem after replacing convergence board
Yes, you do need to set up the convergence in order to get the picture geometry correct. the antenna and maybe some other settings will need to be restored through the appropriate user interface screens. You will need your owners manual for a guide.
Rear projection tv screen warped
Hi, this TV is repairable and you will have to replace two devices. the first is the Convergence board. this device regulates the convergence of the RGB stream so it can be projected evenly. it works in conjunction with the CRT's and deflection assembly and the Focus pack(module). The second device that will need to be replaced is the Focus pack(module). This module is malfunctioning and is causing the smudges and warped look at this time.
Replace these two devices and it will fix this set. i will post the Part numbers below along with there respective prices as well.
Focus Pack(module).--- Part Number-- BP59-00005A---
$38.95
Convergence Board assembly--Part Number---BP94-00383A---- $165.95
Please rate and god bless:)
Humorous noise and no picture
refer to the user's manual""HOW TO replace the lamp""", your tv has now the lamp bad. change it with an original samsung lamp.
50"samsung capacitor or diode
That is your lamp supply and I believe your talking about the spark-gap. If it is arcing, that's and indication the lamp supply is working but being loaded down by a bad lamp. Unless you can find a used lamp supply and take that one off, you'll have to buy another lamp supply. I have never had to replace a spark-gap yet. I hope you didn't accidentally break it.
Shut off
Replace your STK ICs BOTH of them and they are big black ICs with Part #on them if 020s use040s STK392-020 ? also there is 3 resistors next to these ics 2.7ohms CK them most of the time you will have 2 of them bad.
Double images
you will need to have the tv re converged to make the picture right call a repairman
Blue "shadows" on my picture?
if you take the front bottom panel off, you will see 6 little nobs, look like this ::: the midle 2 should be blue, middle top is the focus, middle botton is intencity, turn the middle bottom nob down about a quarter to half turn, should solve prob
Problem
I suggest you enter the Philips model number to search for solutions already posted; unfortunately, Philips comes up too often; they were once a great manufacturer.
Samsung HCM4215w has wavy red lines and bowtie effect
Are you saying that after installing a new convergence board, you still have the same issue? If that's the case, another new board isn't going to resolve this. Also, you can't do a factory reset. Doing that would lose all the convergence and geometry data in the TV and would require a qualified technician hours of work to restore the settings. If you've installed a new board and have the same problem, suspect a problem in the TV's power supply. All convergence circuits require 2 voltages to operate. There will be a postive and a negative voltage of the same value. If you're missing either of these voltages, your convergence will never work properly.

How do i realine the bulb in my samsung rear projection tv
use you're remote to enter code mute 183 while tv is on then press 7 for red 8 for green and 9 for blue control. arrows or knobbie will move cursor. if you still can not control the red you will need to change the red convergence ic...press perfect focus to save changes if pf is not on remote maybe on tv if neither you will need to get a remote that has it to save info.
Check fan # 1
There is a slight possibility that fan #1 is still good. I would still investigate it though. If the heat is not controlled, more damage could be done. I'm not sure which fan is #1. I think on the PCB of the TV would have some kinda of marking that would say FAN 1, FAN 2, etc.
Wavy red lines ,double vision
This is a convergence problem and if you can solder, you should be able to fix this yourself. First open up the back and locate the convergence ICs. These are large black ICs attached to a heatsink and should be marked STKxxx. Post the markings here and I'll confirm you have the correct ones. Try resoldering the pins on the ICs. If that fails to resolve the problem, you will need to replace them.
Keep me posted,
Dan
No picture on samsung hlp5063wx/xaa
to test this set
unpug the 4 pin conector labeld + and _ 20v on the cg convergence module
if set turns on, the problem is that modual
repaie
replace bolth convergence IC'c stk392-040
also check all 3.9 ohm resistors and both pico fuses.
regards,
daniel.
Samsung hcm4215w keeps blowing conv resistors
Look Do this
Replace your STK's
I dont trust them any more after all that info, wow
anyway
replace them
and yes you need Rz123 and Rz124 to be 3.9Ohm @ 2w don't sub.
Now also order a, 3.5a pico fuse for location Fd102s.
regards,
hope this helps you.
