Samsung PCL542R Manufactured in 2002 color is off
if you did not see the picture on the blue tube; that is your problem -- the drive signal is not getting to the video amp and the mixed color from the green tube and the red tube is giving you a different color wich is unnormal. a good picture is when the 3 crt are emitting the video

Triple vison
This is a convergence problem that can be as simple as poor solder connections on the pins of the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder, you may be able to fix this yourself. If you wish to attempt the repair, update this and I'll provide additional details and instructions.

SCREEN IS BLURRY WITH COLORS SCRAMBLED.
You may have a bad focus tippler or your convergence may be out of adjustment. Try the instant focus and see if this corrects the problem. If it doesn't, you may need to seek professional help as I would assume you may need board repair or a new focus module, also you can replace the two convergence ICs and also check the 3.9 ohm resistors. the cost for this will vary in price.

Flashing power light
Check for these power supplies on the Sub deflection board first on the right side of the board there are two Connectors one is a 12 Pin connector CN803 From the top of the connector the wires should read;

Next is the connector below that one which is a 10 pin connector CN802 they should read

TV Flickers red lines across tv screen
Sounds like you have an intermitant overdrive situation on the red CRT. This could be caused by a bad component on the Red CRT board, an intermittantly shorting CRT or the circuitry in the main board. You should not run it until the problem is resolved as you could damage the CRT if it is not already bad. This is something that unless you are a qualified tech you are not going to have any success resolving. It should not be very hard for a good tech to diagnose the problem. Costs will depend on the part which is bad. If it is the red CRT it probably is not worth fixing, but it could be a 50 cent capacitor. Certainly worth the cost of a service call. Good luck.

Convergence Board for hcl4715w Samsung TV
Part can be found at
http://www.vancebaldwin.com - the part is located on the floor of the tv, inside, the middle board. You will have to unplug the tv, carefully remove the back (and front speaker cover) of the tv, and unplug all of wires coming into it. You will also have to remove all of the screws holding it down. The replacement part will fit exactly into the same place - screw the screws back in, plug the wires back into the same place (if you've ever replaced memory in a computer, this will feel very familiar). Once everything is plugged back up, plug in the tv and restart, then run the smart convergence from the remote.
If your TV does not power up, and you have made VERY sure everything is plugged in correctly, then the board you've purchased may be faulty. Return it for a new one. The boards are fragile and can be bad straight out of the box (like computer memory *smile*).
