I have a Samsung rear
Hi,
There could be many reasons for the same ranging from convergence problem to faulty hyper module. This problem needs a tech to properly diagnose the board and the module. It would be worth repair. Do not try to get it repaired from a local shop as i have seen them overcharging for small parts. The best option would be to call Samsung and get it replaced. The repair would be anywhere around $250 - $350 depending upon the fault.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

When I turn the tv
Hi,
Problem seems with convergence output section and there would be dry solder connections in convergence output section.
Re-soldering convergence output chips pins will be helpful to solve this issue.
If you have no experience of soldering work in tv circuit board then local tv repairman will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

TV has been in storage for a year. Turned it on
You probably need a new projector bulb. Google up your model and buy the best warranteed one you can find. Buy a "caged assembly" and not just a bare bulb.
Then unplug your tv and get a screwdriver. Follow your model's instructions and just snug down the electrical screws. Do not overtighten them.
Then consult your manual on how to reset the lamp timer so it knows you put a new bulb in and fires up from the first try.
Treat yourself because you've just saved yourself a trip from a repairman!!

Convergence problem- ghost image. replaced
I have a similar problem with a 4715w and have a whole spare 4715w television to troubleshoot with .
In my case it seems that the board to the left is causing the problem ,
not detachable daughter board thet accepts the inputs or the center board with the flyback xfmr on it .
